Requiem for a Dragon RS3 - How To Train Your Undead Dragon

By Helen Gray | Created: April 19, 2024 | Last updated: December 17, 2024 | Read Time: 15 minutes

Despite all of your efforts in the Battle of Forinthry and your success in putting a stop to Zemouregal's undead army, there are still some things to be addressed: the undead dragon that's running loose for one. RS3 Requiem for a Dragon will take a look at Vorkath's ongoing story following the events of the battle. Fortunately, Chicks Gold has compiled all there is to know regarding this brand-new quest so you can be well prepared! We'll discuss the requirements, rewards, and all there is to know regarding this exciting new endeavor, so let's delay no further and get into it.

As we know, Zemouregal, despite being a powerful Necromancer, was unable to train Vorkath to bend to his will. This raised many questions: was he weakened? Was Vorkath more than he bargained for? This quest is set to answer some of these questions, informing us what power must have gone into the reanimation of the great beast. It will become your job to tame Vorkath or destroy him, but doing so will not be an easy task; you must understand the dragon wholeheartedly to have a chance at succeeding.

Requiem for a Dragon will see players returning to Ungael to hone their Necromancy abilities and gain a better understanding of the skill. It's essential to know that letting your guard down is not an option; in this quest series, you're not the only one in pursuit of power.

Enemies Ahead

In Requiem for a Dragon RS3, you'll face off against several level 85 enemies, or, if you're stealthy enough, you can avoid their advances. However, no matter your stealth skills, you will be battling the Spirit of Vengeance.

Taking Off in Requiem for a Dragon RS3

To get things underway, speak with Aster, and she will inform you that Vorkath being loose after the Battle of Forinthry has the general population on edge; she states that until he is destroyed, he will be a threat to the people of Gielinor. It has been indicated that the giant beast was seen flying to Ungael, and Aster requests that you investigate. She suggests weapons and armor to be equipped before you make the journey, then directs you to the rowboat by the Grove.

Arriving at Ungael

When you arrive, you will be met with a troop of eight Zamorakian scouts; they will be discussing their mission, which involves waiting for reinforcements before dealing with the dragon. You will also overhear them discussing their discomfort with their mysterious boss.

rs3 vorkath

You'll then need to battle all eight of the scouts to progress with RS3 Requiem for a Dragon, and if you are killed during this encounter, you will respawn near the Grove inside Death's Office. Once you have defeated the scouts, make your way into the Colossal Cave, and you will find that the path beyond the cave takes you through some ruins; beyond them, you will find a cliff that resembles a necromancy ritual site. Here, you will see Vorkath, who is injured and far less hostile than when controlled by Zemouregal.

Approach the beast, and you will be given three options:

  • Study the Creature (Neutral)
  • Reach out your hand (Friendly)
  • Slay the Beast (Aggressive)

Studying him will leave you wondering why he isn't attacking, choosing the friendly approach will make him flinch, and choosing to slay him will issue a secondary prompt asking if you want to engage in combat. Keep your hand outstretched, and Vorkath will release a wave of cold; if you continue to encourage him, the frost will intensify. Try not to shiver; with any luck, you will get him to relax enough for the frost to recede.

With the dragon now calm, move on to the next stage of Requiem for a Dragon in RS3, studying Vorkath. It will be obvious to you that he is suffering, and at this point, you will receive a fourth option, which is to lay the creature to rest. Sadly, when you attempt to use Necromancy to lay him to rest, his soul will not be able to pass on, appearing to be cursed.

Ask the creature what is wrong, and he will produce a crystal shard. If you inspect it, you will feel an unnatural energy radiating from the shard. You will then remember that the Archivist (Ungael) made notes on the creation of Vorkath, so make your way to the library and speak with the projection of it to learn more.

Make your way down the stairs that you entered via and head to the fortress through the eastern slope. Go into the ruins at the very top and continue through until you discover an Imposing Statue. You must then interact with the doorway on the south wall and head toward the library to the southwest. When you enter, you will instantly be attacked by a Zamorakian translator despite being unarmed. Defeat him, and he will drop his Zamorakian translator notes. Read them to discover he wasn't bad at translating the Archivist's words.

Your next Requiem for a Dragon RS3 task is to search the bookcase on the northern wall near the entrance you came in. You should locate Zorgoth's Journal; the notes will indicate a strong distaste for the human population and confusion about the fact Jas has allowed them to live so long, especially as the Dragonkin are cursed. Due to this great distaste, Zorgoth has dedicated himself to punishing humans in Jas' name. He details his anger toward his incompetent assistant since the exit of Lacrussa and complains about Vorkath's affection for humans. This anger makes him wonder whether Vorkath would be more useful dead before going on to mention that Kerpac has been studying a black stone that can reanimate corpses to make them violent animals.

Next, in RS3 Requiem for a Dragon, you will read that Zorgoth replaced Vorkath's heart with one made from the black stone, mentioning also the experiments of Kranon using the same stone. He intended to make Vorkath have a pure burning hatred for humanity, and while the creature became hateful, he also became melancholy and wallowed around. It appeared the dragon no longer had the same love for humanity, but he still would not attack; Zorgoth declared the creature to be a failure and intended to find a new use for the stone.

After you read the journal, carry on with this Requiem for a Dragon RS3 guide by inspecting the Dragonkin mural on the west wall in the library. You will see the depiction of a huge dragon billowing flames in a far more aggressive manner than Vorkath has ever displayed. To the south, you will find a congealed potion on the floor; pick it up, and you will discover that in spite of the freezing temperature, the liquid within the bottle is not frozen. Lastly, search the shelves by the Archivist to find the broken focus that emits an unusually cold sensation.

Awaking the Archivist in Requiem for a Dragon RS3

With all of the items found, you can now discuss them with the Archivist. Below, we have listed what he will tell you about each of the items:

  • Mural - Shows Vorkath as the weapon Zorgoth dreamt he would become.
  • Potion - It seems to be poison brewed by Zorgoth's alchemist as a punishment to coerce Vorkath into cooperation.
  • Focus - The Archivist was trying to keep tabs on the other Dragonkin to see if any breakthroughs had been made in ending their curse; instead, he found distrust and weakness in his kind.
  • Crystal - He tells you of Kranon's failure and subsequent descent into madness through the use of the black stone. Some of the stone washed up on Ungael, and the Archivist intended to use it to control Vortkath.

Before the conversation comes to a close and you continue with this Requiem for a Dragon RS3 guide, the Archivist tells you that the assistants in the laboratory began to complain of imaginary songs, leading them to believe the black stone's corruption was bleeding into Ungael.

Requiem for a Dragon RS3 - The Corruption of Vorkath

After your struggle to find answers regarding Vorkath, return to Fort Forinthry and confront Zemouregal. Go to the floor and enter the floor hatch just east of the Command Centre to locate him. You can then approach him in a few ways, and depending on your skill, quest, and boss progression, the dialogue options will have varying degrees of success.

Dialogue One

Show off your Necromancy skills - At level 99, you will have a 50% chance of success, with the only guaranteed pass coming with level 120.

Gloat about defeating him in combat - You'll need to have at least ten kills in the Zemouregal and Vorkath encounter to pass this.

Mock his skeletal form - No requirements, always grants a pass.

Dialogue Two

Remind him of all the times you've defeated him - Always successful, regardless of progress with questing.

Remind him of when you worked together - Being granted a pass will vary depending on your progress/completion with Dishonor among Thieves, Eye of Het II, Aftermath, and having at least one kill in Zamorak, Lord of Chaos (normal) boss fight.

Dialogue Three

I have a soul, and you don't - No requirements, always successful.

I could bury you alive down here, and no one would care -  No requirements, always successful.

Once you finalize all of this Zemouregal dialogue in RS3 Requiem for a Dragon, he will tell you Moia killed Bilrach and has been attempting to consolidate the power of all remaining forces of Zamorak.

If you ask about the scouts in Ungael, he will tell you Moia has shown interest in Ungael for a while now and has been searching for old power buried somewhere on the island. Zemouregal saw this as an opportunity and took Vorkath for himself, but this did not stop Moia from continuing her investigation. This leads you to believe there may be more secrets to discover.

You must then ask about Vorkath's soul, and Zemouregal will confirm that it has been corrupted. He then goes on to blame the corruption on his failure to win the Battle of Forinthry. This causes you to theorize that if you can cleanse the corruption, you will be finally able to set Vorkath's soul free. So, make your way to Death in the City of Um to see if he can assist with the cleansing.

Knocking on Death's Door

You'll find Death in the middle of the City of Um. Describe the situation Vorkath is in, and Death will tell you that your plan and its mechanics will contradict the work of Necromancy entirely, but it may just work. Death then informs you that when Rasial was a human named Misalionar, he was a Guthiian druid who did research on the purification of corrupted souls.

In his time, Misalionar was one of the most influential and renowned wizards, spreading the knowledge of Runes to the first settlers of Gielinor. As he and Death shared a close connection with Guthix, over the years they became good acquaintances. As time passed, Mislionar became more infatuated with death and grew paranoid; he then confided that he had a recurring nightmare of being smothered by black stone hands. These nightmares convinced him that sinister forces were at work, causing him to dedicate himself to counteracting them, whether that meant going against Guthix or not.

Death then tells you the last he heard from Misalionar was when he informed him of a new kind of focus that could push back shadows and light the way for wayward souls. Ask about the focus, and Death will point you to the Tree of Balance to the south of the Archeology Guild; he states that the tree was planted on a sacred site, once used to hold relics just like the focus.

Tree Talks in Requiem for a Dragon RS3

Your next task in RS3 Requiem for a Dragon is to talk with the Tree of Balance, who confirms the site it resides on is, in fact, sacred. The tree tells you it had been dormant for centuries before its planting and that its roots can sense ancient magic within the land.

When you ask the tree if the druids who planted it knew of the land's significance, it tells you that they did not know but that it is not the first time that this land has been used as a sacred grove. The tree will then state that the focus was torn apart in fear and that the pieces lie far in the west by the Memorial to Guthix before telling you if you are able to bring the pieces of the focus, it will be able to repair them.

The Memorial of Guthix

The memorial can be found south of Piscatoris; just outside of the memorial itself, you will find two patches of earthen clay; you'll need level 86 Archeology to uncover them. The western patch will provide a Damaged Soul Beacon (base), and the eastern a Damaged Soul Beacon (core). With both pieces now in your inventory, return to the Tree of Balance to continue with the adventure.

Repairing the Beacon

The Tree of Balance will repair the pieces, combining them to provide you with a Damaged Soul Beacon, stating that the beacon is still dormant. The tree then suggests that you restore the relic at an Archaeologist's workbench using the following materials:

  • 30 White Marble
  • 30 White Oak
  • 5 Greater Ensouled Bars

After you have restored the Soul Beacon in Requiem for a Dragon RS3, return to the tree, and it will notice that Misolionar has left instructions on the focus; they read as follows:

For cursed souls who have undergone change at an elemental level, may this beacon allow one to commune with them, cleanse them, and change their fate.

The message deduces that the correct glyph order is Change/Elemental/Commune/Change. So, with your now restored focus, go back to Um and speak with Death once more.

When you show Death the focus, he will examine it briefly before stating that the ritual to cleanse the undead dragon's soul must be carried out twice. You must first do so at the Um ritual site, creating an anchor point for his soul. Then, you must perform the second near Vorkath on the surface at the Ungael ritual site. After this, Death will send you on your way to the first ritual.

Saving Souls in Requiem for a Dragon RS3

At the ritual site in Um, use the pedestal in the center and select the Soulfarer ritual; below are the requirements for this task:

  • 75 Necromancy
  • 6 Light sources
  • 1 elemental II Glyph
  • 2 Change II Glyphs
  • 1 Commune II Glyph

After the ritual is completed, you will be rewarded a Soul Beacon, so head to Ungael to carry out the second ritual in RS3 Requiem for a Dragon.

Use the rowboat near the Grove to get back to Ungael and ensure you have some armor, weapons, and food, as well as the materials for a second ritual. Go back through the Colossal Cave where Vorkath is hiding, and just east of the cliff, you will see the ancient ritual site and should be able to repair it. So, begin work repairing the pedestal, glyph spots, candle spots, and platform (you should repair a total of 13 objects); this will cost no materials and grant low Construction XP.

Carry out the ritual a second time and take note of the warning for upcoming danger.

When you begin the ritual, you will trigger a cutscene in which three entities approach the site: Vengeance, Bilrach, and a Mysterious Relic. Vengeance notes that the reports on Vorkath's presence were correct, and then he will spot you on the ritual site. Your character will be shocked by Bilrach's appearance as you thought him to be dead at the hands of Moia.

The group will continue their pursuit of the undead creature, stating that Vorkath's purpose goes far beyond what Zemouregal had intended for him.

At this point in Requiem for a Dragon RS3, the trio begins to use the Mysterious Relic to siphon power from Vorkath and the Black Stone, inflicting excruciating pain on the creature. Bilrach will take over the siphoning while Vengeance comes to deal with you and prevent your interference.

Of course, you must intervene, so prepare for a fight; Melee is Vengeance's combat method of choice. Once you have taken him down, start your second ritual, but expect Vengeance to respawn and continue his attack. The ritual will bring forth Shadow Rifts, dismiss them, and continue, and once you have completed it, Bilrach will tell you it is too late and your interference did nothing. Vorkath's body will then fall to the ground, lifeless.

The trio will teleport away, leaving you with the flashing beacon, which will soon vanish. You will be left with nothing but the undead (now dead again) dragon. Approach him and inspect his body. There will be no response and no sign of his soul; return to Death in the City of Um.

What Comes After

Tell Death of what occurred, and despite your worries that your attempt was a failure, he will encourage you, stating that perhaps the ritual was a success. He then tells you to head to the gardens in the southeast of Selene. Do so, and you will find the ghostly form of Vorkath sleeping in the grass. Approach him and tell him your joy for his passing over. He can not speak but will acknowledge you before returning to his long-awaited rest.

After this heartwarming encounter, it's time to carry out the final task of Requiem for a Dragon RS3 and confront Zemouregal about his claims that Moia had slain Bilrach. Head to his cell in Fort Forinthry, and he will be doubtful that Bilrach survived, stating Moia very publicly tore him to shreds in front of a crowd. After he says this, you will explain that Bilrach had a keen interest in the soul of the undead dragon; this prompts Zemouregal to ask you to explain in great detail what occurred on Ungael.

Even after your explanation, he still doubts Bilrach's survival, especially as Mahjarrat do not have souls to resurrect. This leads him to believe the Bilrach you saw on Ungael was not, in fact, him. However, when you try to decipher what he means by this, he will dismiss you, simply giving the ominous answer that this changes things.

Note: You must have three empty inventory spaces to receive the rewards from RS3 Requiem for a Dragon, so if you receive a message before speaking to Zemouregal, ensure you make room for them.

Requiem for a Dragon RS3 - FAQ

So, to negate all of that confusion, Chicks Gold has found the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions regarding this new adventure; take a look below:

How long is Requiem for a Dragon in RS3?

The quest is speculated to be around 'medium' length, meaning it can take anywhere from 45 minutes upwards if played out properly. Yes, as with all the Fort Forinthry quests, this is also a Members-only quest. So, if you want to get in on the action, update that membership and get questing!

Is RS3 Requiem for a Dragon a direct requirement?

As of now this quest is not a direct requirement; however, as we all know, the ever growing world of Gielinor is subject to change at any time. And given the cryptic response from Zemouregal at the end of this adventure, we can only speculate about the new adventures ahead.

Welcome back to another Chicks Gold WoW Guide. The latest expansion, The War Within, has got off to a great start, introducing many new features to WoW, including Delves, crafted PvP gear, and much more. Of course, with any new expansion and season, one of the most hotly anticipated releases are the raids. Today, we’ll be covering the first raid of WoW: TWW season one, the Nerub-ar Palace Raid.

Nerub-ar Palace is an exciting new raid with eight bosses to discover, learn, and conquer. In this guide, we’ll be examining Nerub-ar Palace and going over all the details, including locations, bosses, and loot. We’ll also discuss the known release schedule and what else you can expect from TWW raids.

Nerub-ar Palace Raid Lore

This raid takes place in the arachnid-themed land of Azj-Kahet, a new area in The War Within. Here, you will find Queen Ansurek, who rules from her throne in the Nerub-ar Palace, located southwest of the City of Threads. Her Sureki disciples are loyal to her, and she reigns over them from her place of power. However, there is growing rivalry from the Severed Threads, who plan to end her rule over this land.

Important Raid Information

Let’s examine this raid and what players can expect from it.

Nerub-ar Palace release dates

Different raid types and difficulties will become available over time, with an additional story mode that can be played solo by players just wishing to progress through TWW’s story. Raid Finder Wing 1, Normal and Heroic difficulties, were released on September 10th, 2024, shortly after the release of TWW. On September 17th, Raid Finder Wing 2, Story and Mythic difficulty will be released, and then on September 24th, we will see the release of Raid Finder Wing 3.

Story mode

Players have the option to complete the raid as part of the story without the need to join other players. To facilitate this, you can have a maximum of 10 NPC party members. This means you won’t have to wait to start a raid and can begin or finish a raid at a time that suits you. However, completing Nerub-ar Palace Raid in story mode prevents any of the eight bosses from dropping loot. You’ll be able to start this raid in story mode after completing the first chapter of The War Within expansion. Then, visit Webster, who is located in Dornogal near the Horde Embassy, to begin the Our Chance to Strike Our Chance to Strike quest, which begins a questline culminating in To Kill a Queen to Kill a Queen. To begin the story mode raid, just speak to Kriz, the "Loyal" who resides in the City of Threads.

Quest rewards

Story mode raiding won't bring you any rewards in the typical sense, but there are some rewards for completing the final quest in this quest line. Successful players will receive 1400 Gold, 2500 Rep Vizier Commendation, 265x Valorstones Valorstones,

Severed strands buff

A new quest will arrive after the start of Season 1 of The War Within called The Finer Things. Players can collect Nerub-ar Finery, which is a new currency reward from raid bosses. This currency can then be exchanged for Severed Strands, which can be stacked and give you a maximum healing and damage raid buff of 18%. Please note that this buff is entirely optional.

Traveling to the Nerub-ar Palace

The exact location of the palace is /way 34.9 72.1, which is in the City of Threads in Azj-Kahet. The fastest way to travel there is by using the flight point located in the center of the City of Threads.

Nerub-ar Palace Raid Boss Overview

As mentioned, there are 8 Nerub-ar Palace Raid bosses, culminating in the main boss, Queen Ansurek. All bosses must be completed in linear order, except for two whose order you can decide when you reach that part. The boss encounters for this raid are as follows:

  • Ulgrax the Devourer
  • The Bloodbound Horror
  • Sikran
  • Rasha'nan
  • Broodtwister Ovi'nax/ Nexus-Princess Ky'veza - these bosses have optional orders.
  • Anub'arash and Skeinspinner Takazj
  • Queen Ansurek

The following are outlines of the eight bosses and some strategies for overcoming them. We will be covering Normal and Heroic difficulties.

Ulgrax the Devourer

Named after its insatiable hunger, Ulgrax the Devourer is one of Queen Ansurek’s fearsome and grotesque guards. This boss is the first you’ll encounter during the raid and has two phases you’ll need to learn that alternate once it reaches zero energy. The boss always starts on the same phase, which involves throwing spider webs out that root you to the ground for eight seconds if touched. Ulgrax also casts Carnivorous Contest during this phase, which pulls players in towards it. You can mitigate this effect by grouping together to take the hit as a team, which reduces the strength of the effect per player. Lastly, Ulgrax will cast Brutal Crush, which reduces the effectiveness of incoming healing. During the second phase, Ulgrax will take 99% less damage while summoning Ravenous Spawn, which must be killed. These spawn drop Chunky Viscera, which you should then take to the boss to feed it. You will also need to dodge the Juggernaut Charge attack during this phase. That’s all there is to this boss; just repeat these phases until it’s defeated.

Ulgrax the Devourer WoW TWW Raid

The Bloodbound Horror

The second boss of the Nerub-ar Palace WoW raid, the Bloodbound Horror, has one phase you will need to learn. Gruesome Disgorge targets the group tank and causes shadow damage. To minimize the damage, you should split your party into two equal groups and alternate tanking hits. The reason for this is because of The Unseeming, an alternative realm that you can be sent to and must defeat adds while preventing small adds from reaching the boss. Only those in The Unseeming can fight these adds, so it’s vital to split and maintain equal tasks in both realms. The Bloodbound Horror can also cast Grasp From Beyond, which causes two players to be debuffed each time, Goresplatter which creates a 60-yard AoE that you must escape from; and in the Heroic mode, Spewing Hemorrhage, which fires two arena-dividing laser beams.

Bloodbound Horror Nerub-ar boss

Sikran, Captain of the Sureki

Sureki is a powerful blade duelist and the captain of Queen Ansureks lair. Sikran has one phase, and Phase Blades is the first attack Sikran will make during it. This attack involves players being marked and then Sikran lunging at them with blades out. Marked players that are hit will create a Cosmic Simulacrum, which causes shadow damage to surrounding players. In Heroic mode, even unmarked players who are hit by the attack will create a Cosmic Simulacrum. After the Phase Blades, Sikran casts Decimate, which will cause damage to marked players and cause any Cosmic Simulacrums to explode, creating further AoE damage. After two Decimates have been cast, you should avoid the damage resistance debuff-causing Shattering Sweep attack.

Sikran WoW Raid Boss

Rasha'nan

Rasha’nan, another of Ansurek’s grotesque creations, makes its way from the earlier encounter in the Dawnbreaker Dungeon and begins this fight in a wounded state with only 60% health. Rolling Acid is the first attack Rasha’nan will cast that marks players and inflicts them with a corrosive poison. Marked players should avoid the attack waves as best as possible to minimize damage. Spinneret's Strands pull players towards Rasha’nan while causing nature damage every second. Infested Spawn spawns adds that you should defeat quickly, and in Heroic mode, players that are targeted will also cause AoE damage to surrounding players. Rasha’nan will frequently fly around the arena, casting Acidic Eruption, which you should interrupt while chasing him down to inflict more damage. In Heroic mode, Rasha’nan will also cast Web Reave, which causes meteors to fall on the targeted player. You can group together to share the damage from this meteor shower.

Rasha'nan

Broodtwister Ovi'nax

Depending on the order taken, Broodtwister Ovi'nax is the 5th or 6th boss you’ll encounter during the raid. Another single-phase boss, this boss fight takes place in an arena divided into three sections, with each section containing eggs that spawn adds. The fight starts with Ingest Black Blood, which involves the Broodtwister Ovi’nax ingesting black blood to become more powerful. Eventually, black blood will spill, and when it comes into contact with an egg, it will cause the egg to hatch, releasing the adds. Other dangers you’ll have to deal with are Experimental Dosage, a Colossal Spider that hatches from one of the big eggs, a Voracious Worm that hatches from medium eggs, and four Blood Parasites that hatch from egg clusters.

Broodtwister Ovi'nax Nerub-ar Palace Raid

Nexus-Princess Ky'veza

Nexus-Princess Ky'veza, a new arrival to the palace and confidante of Queen Ansurek, is a two-phase boss with intermissions that cause her to gain more power and become more difficult to defeat. This fight takes place in a hexagon-shaped arena. Essentially, the boss will fire an assassination attack at players, which will cause Nether Rifts to open at the location where the player is hit. These rifts pull players in, so the best strategy is to place them at opposite corners of the hexagon to cancel out the pulling effect. In Heroic mode, you should beware of Queensbane, which causes Dark Viscera to spawn if you’ve already been targeted. So if you’ve been hit by Queensbane, you should run as far away from your team as possible so they aren’t damaged by it. In phase two, Nether Phantoms will attack targetted players. In Heroic mode, the room will be divided into six equal segments, with two exploding every few seconds and moving clockwise throughout the arena.

Nexus-Princess Ky'veza

The Silken Court

The final boss arena before you take on Queen Ansurek is the Silken Court. Here, you will find the Queen’s closest advisors, Anub'arash and Skeinspinner Takazj. These bosses have three phases and two intermissions. In phase one, two players will need to become bound by webs from Web Bombs; then, you can stop the boss's charge by making him hit the Binding Webs. For Heroic mode, you will need two Binding Webs to stop it. During the intermission, Skeinspinner Takazj teleports to the center of the arena and creates a shield; you must destroy this shield to progress. In phase two, Skeinspinner Takazj then creates an AoE and causes all players hit to be joined by Binding Webs. To break the web, just run as far from your bound player as possible. Also, Stinging Swarm will release swarms of insects at players. Intermission two will see the other boss, Anub'arash, teleport to the center and shield itself; once again, you must destroy this shield to continue. In the third phase, all previous attacks will take place, with the exception of Web Bombs.

Silken Court Raid

Queen Ansurek

For the final battle of the raid, you will face Queen Ansurek herself. This fight has three phases and two intermissions. Phase one begins with Liquefy and Feast being cast on an active tank in your party. Next, a targetted player will be hit with Reactive Toxin; if that happens to you, you must move to the edge of the arena. Venom Nova will cause a ring to grow in size that heavily inflicts damage upon anyone in its path, and Silken Tomb will cause players to remain rooted in place. The first intermission sees the Queen creating a large shield and pulling players in toward her. After the shield is broken, phase two begins. During this phase, you won’t be able to damage the boss, and you will need to ascend on the outer platforms while killing Ascended Voidspeakers, who, upon death, will push you back and allow you to ascend further. You will have to defeat many adds during the phase, including Devoted Worshipper and Chamber Guardians. Finally, in phase three, you can damage the boss again. You should be wary of the Abyssal Conduit AoE effect, which will target players, and Summoned Acolytes, which you must kill immediately. Upon defeating Queen Ansurek, you’ll have the chance to receive some Nerub-ar Palace loot, including the mounts Reins of the Sureki Skyrazor, Reins of the Ascendant Skyrazor, weapons Ansurek's Final Judgment, Sovereign's Disdain, and the very rare Seal of the Poisoned Pact.

Curse of the Empty Lord OSRS: Guide for the Cursed Miniquest Curse of the Empty Lord OSRS: Guide for the Cursed Miniquest Training Manuals

In this new installment for Chicks Gold’s blog, we’re going to synthesize all the essential information for the Curse of the Empty Lord from OSRS, thus achieving a quick guide that should tell the player everything they need to know for this adventure.

Before We Start the OSRS Curse of the Empty Lord

OSRS Curse of the Empty Lord is a medium-length miniquest about the woeful tale of Valdez the Explorer, and by following his request to discover the reason for his cursed fate, you’ll learn about the other souls, whose similar state of doom is interconnected by one artifact. This trail of tragedy takes root from two gods’ dispute, specifically the betrayal of Zaros by the hands of Zamorak.

This miniquest becomes available for players who have already completed the Desert Treasure I quest. Similar to the nature of DT1, this quest is only available to OSRS members.

Fun fact! Upon completing OSRS Curse of the Empty Lord, the quest “The General’s Shadow” will be available to complete. Said quest works as a sequel to this miniquest.

Skill requirements for OSRS curse of the empty lord

This miniquest is classified as experienced difficulty. It is essential that you have:

  • 53 Thieving – for the ring of visibility.
  • 31 Prayer – you’ll need this if you are sent down the second path to the Edgeville Monastery.

While not obligatory, it would make your trek during this quest easier if you also have the following:

  • 50 combat level.
  • Teleportation jewelry/runes – like an amulet of glory, slayer ring or royal seed pod.
  • Stamina potions – to persevere run energy (particularly useful in the Wilderness).

Quest requirements

For this quest, there are two essential items you’re going to need in order to successfully complete it those are:

  • Ghostspeak amulet – acquired after partial completion of The Restless Ghost quest.
  • Ring of visibility – acquired after Desert Treasure I.
  • At least 5 gold in case you need to buy a Shanty pass.
  • Any slash weapon for the Lava Maze.

Alternatively, if you have Morytania legs 2 or higher, you can use that in lieu of the ghostspeak amulet.

Heed the Warnings

Before we properly begin our Curse of the Empty Lord OSRS quick guide, it is worth mentioning that a lot of your trekking in this miniquest is going to be done in the Wilderness—in particularly dangerous parts no less—so beware of player killers.

Remember the teleportation jewelry we mentioned earlier? Well, keep in mind you can’t teleport in the Wilderness after level 20, unless you have one of those teleportation items we’ve already mentioned, though those are only useful until level 30.

This miniquest has three possible paths. However, the ghosts can be found in every variable location for this quest. You need to follow each path in its correct order to complete the miniquest; otherwise, you won’t be able to advance unless you follow the designated path.

The Curse of the Empty Lord Begins

To commence this adventure, you must go to Glarial’s Tomb, north-west of the Fishing Guild. With your ring of visibility and ghostspeak amulet (or Morytania legs 2 or above), At the entrance of the Tomb, you’ll meet Valdez the Explorer. Keep in mind that since he’s a ghost, he will not appear on the minimap, so keep your eyes open for him.

Speak to him and he’ll introduce himself and relate his woes. Then, he’ll request you to go seek the ghost of the person who killed him—Rennard. He’ll give the Ghostly robe (top) as payment for his request, and he’ll indicate where you can start looking for this soul.

This is where the quest splits into one of three different paths. So be mindful if:

  • He mentions pirates and a ship being stranded – Path 1 will start
  • He mentions the thieves north-east from there – Path 2 will start
  • He mentions the thieves south-east from there – Path 3 will start

Path 1

The instructions for the first Path are as follows:

Recommended items

For this path, it would be good to have: Burning Amulet and Necklace of Passage.

  • Rennard can be found around the shipwrecked ship in Wilderness Level 52. This is located more specifically between the Pirated Hideout and the Wilderness Agility Course. He will give you the Ghostly gloves and send you to Kharrim.
  • Kharrim can be found at the Chaos Temple (hut) altar in Wilderness 38, north of The Forgotten Cemetery. He will give you the Ghostly boots and send you to Lenissa.
    • You can use the Burning Amulet and teleport to a safe location with a bank.
  • Lenissa can be found at the church of Entrana. She will give you the Ghostly robe (bottom) and send you to Dhalak.
    • Armour is prohibited in Entrana, so it would be best if you do have the ghostspeak amulet.
  • Dhalak can be found on the ground floor of the Wizards’ Tower. He will give you the Ghostly hood and send you to Viggora.
  • Viggora can be found up the stairs of the Rougues’ Castle in Wilderness level 52-56, in the small room at the farthest east side. He’ll be there with a bronze sq shield. He’ll give you the last item, the Ghostly cloak.
    • Beware of PKers and Chaos Elementals.

Path 2

The instructions for the second Path are as follows:

Recommended items

For this path, it would be good to have: Burning amulet (to go to Bandit Camp and Chaos Temple), Explorer Ring (to go to Port Sarim), Combat bracelet, Skull sceptre, Amulet of glory, Varrock teleport (to go to Edgeville Monastery), Fairy ring c⋅k⋅s (to go to Slayer Tower 1st floor), Slayer ring, Salve graveyard teleport, Kharyrll Teleport, Ectophial, Ring of dueling.

  • Rennard can be found at the Wilderness’ Bandit Camp near the shops. He will give you the Ghostly gloves and send you to Kharrim.
    • If bandits are giving you a hard time, you can lock them up in a nearby store before talking to Rennard.
  • Kharrim can be found in the Graveyard of Shadows (use Carrallanger), usually near the southern tomb. He will give you the Ghostly boots and send you to Lenissa.
  • Lenissa can be found at Port Sarim docks in Lady Lumbridge (second southmost dock). She will give you the Ghostly robe (bottom) and send you to Dhalak.
  • Dhalak can be found at the altar of the Edgeville Monastery (upstairs, level 31 prayer is required). He will give you the Ghostly hood and sed you to Viggora.
  • Viggora can be found in Canafis at the Slayer Tower 1st floor. Go to the southeast stairwell near the entrance to the Infernal Mages. He’ll give you the last item, the Ghostly cloak.

Path 3

The instructions for the third Path are as follows:

Recommended items

For this path, it would be good to have: Shantay pass, Falador teleport tabs/runes, Amulet of glory (to go to Al Kharid and Edgeville), Burning amulet (to go to Lava Maze), 200 coins for carpet ride and slash weapon for Lava Maze.

  • Rennard can be found at the Kharidian Desert’s Bandit Camp, in the bar located in the western area. He will give you the Ghostly gloves and send you to Kharrim.
  • Kharrim can be found inside the second fenced area of the Lava Maze. Use your slash weapon to make your way through the webs. He will give you the Ghostly boots and send you to Lenissa.
  • Lenissa can be found at the Tree Gnome Stronghold, generally around the west side of the tree. She will give you the Ghostly robe (bottom) and send you to Dhalak.
  • Dhalak can be found upstairs on the east side of the Falador Party Room. He will give you the Ghostly hood and send you to Viggora.
  • Viggora can be found at the Edgeville Dungeon, in the northern room near the earth warriors. He’ll give you the last item, the Ghostly cloak.
    • The earth warriors might complicate your interaction with the ghost. Try locking them behind Viggora with you in front of him. Once you fully start your interaction with the ghost, the NPCs should stay behind him.

Soul Searching RS3 - Reintroduction to the Underworld Soul Searching RS3 - Reintroduction to the Underworld Training Manuals

Once again, the Chicks Gold blog series is back! This time, we'll be exploring the exciting new quest to hit RS3, Soul Searching. Within this new quest, you'll need to investigate a mysterious spirit that is hanging around the City of Um and find out the reasons behind its appearance. This is a short adventure for members only, so get that membership up-to-date, and let's take a look at what we can expect from this adventure! We'll start with the requirements needed to embark on this adventure, so let's begin.

Requirements in Soul Searching RS3

As with most RS3 quests, there are some necessities in order to get the adventure started. So, let's explore those essentials:

  • Necromancy! Quest completion
  • 3 Cadava Berries
  • 19 Fishing Bait
  • Antipoison (3)
  • Charcoal
  • Papyrus

You'll be glad to see that there are few requirements for this adventure and even more glad to know there are no enemies to face. So, you'll be in for a more laid-back adventure in terms of combat. With all that said, let's get into the walkthrough!

Soul Searching RS3 - A Suspicious Stranger

To start this quest, you'll need to speak to Trista or the Suspicious Stranger. Both can be found at the City of Um docks north of Lupe's Soul Supplies. Listen in on their conversation before interjecting. Once you've completed the dialogue, you'll see an "Eavesdrop" option on either of the characters, which you must select. This action will bring up the start quest interface so you can accept and begin your journey through Soul Searching RS3.

Once you have begun the quest, hide behind the nearby boxes and listen to their conversation. You'll hear them discussing travel to the Sanctum of Rebirth to be reincarnated; you must then report this strange encounter to Death within the city. So, make your way to his office to continue.

Knocking on Death's Door

After discussing the quest's events with Death, inform him of what you heard down by the docks. He will then tell you that the Sanctum of Rebirth is not a safe place for spirits and humans alike before asking you to return to the docks and ask the stranger about her knowledge of the place.

So, for your next task in the Soul Searching quest in RS3, return to the docks and ask the Suspicious Stranger what she knows about this place.

This time around, she will be much more talkative, providing you with the steps to get to the overworld. However, she will abruptly stop the conversation once she realizes you are not dead. At this point, you will have three options: convince, persuade and threaten. Go through all three options to see what information you can draw from the stranger. You must try to convince her you are a zombie, persuade her by promising you won't tell anyone about the Sanctum of Rebirth, and threaten her that Death will revoke her underworld abilities.

Sadly, all of these options will get you no further forward with the adventure. So you must head back to Death and ask what else he suggests. He will then advise that you speak with Malignus Mortifer, as he is an expert at "looking dead and vacant." So make your way to the Um Ritual Site and find him.

Finding Malignus in Soul Searching RS3

You'll find Malignus Mortifer by the ritual site's ritual chest. Speak with him regarding the events of the RS3 Soul Searching quest, briefly discussing the events that have taken place. Mention Death's comments about his ability to look dead and vacant, and ask if he can help you look like a zombie. He will provide you with a temporary solution if you provide him with Antipoison, charcoal fishing bait and papyrus. All but fishing bait can be found in Jiminua's Jungle Store, but it is instead found in several stores.

Round up the ingredients, then return to Maglinus, who will concoct a zombification potion. When you ask him about the papyrus and charcoal, he informs you that you need to sign a waiver to negate any liability in case you experience issues. You can accept or deny the waiver, but if you repeatedly deny him, he will forge your signature anyway.

With the zombification potion now in your possession, it's time to head back to the City of Um docks and speak with the Suspicious Stranger once more.

Zombification in Soul Searching RS3

Drink the potion behind the crates you hid at previously in the quest before approaching the stranger. When the potion takes hold, make your way to her, and she will ask you if you wish to be reincarnated; agree and then board the gondola to make your way to the Sanctum of Rebirth.

When you arrive, a cutscene will begin, showing Ictharin stating Death anticipated you would arrive. The effects of the potion will begin to fade, and the Suspicious Stranger will realize you tricked her. At this point, Ictharin teleports her away.

You must then relay the events of RS3 Soul Searching to him, and he will then ask if you have any questions. He will then go on to explain that the Sanctum is Amascut's domain and is occupied by creatures created by her, as well as those she has bent to her will. He also informs you that the stranger was actually someone cursed and controlled by her to ferry souls to the Sanctum of Rebirth. He tells you that the Suspicious Stranger is now held in his domain; at this point, you will ask, "What now?" and offer to stop the creatures residing there. Icthlarin will advise against it but also agrees not to stop you. This will mark the end of the quest.

osrs a kingdom divided

A Kingdom Divided OSRS - The Investigation Begins

Begin this adventure by speaking with Martin Holt to the east of Kourend Castle in Kingstown; you'll find him on the platform by the protestors. He will inform you that the late King's daughter intended to take over after his reign, but the Kourend Council took control for themselves. You must agree to help him to get the quest underway. Martin will then explain what needs to be done and will tell you to speak with Commander Fullore on the ground floor of the castle. So, make your way down to the ground floor.

When you speak with the Commander, she explains that the Council is very beneficial to Kourend and will agree to assist you in finding Sophia Hughes, providing you follow her orders. Reply with 'Let's get going,' and a cutscene will follow depicting Tomas Lawry claiming to have the authority to lead the upcoming investigation. Following this cutscene, head into the house to the north of you and search the house to obtain clues as to where Sophia may be. Below is a list of items that can be searched:

Ground Floor

On the ground floor, you can search:

  • Four shelves
  • Two tables
  • Four cabinets
  • Roses

First Floor

On the first floor, you can search:

  • Bathtubs
  • Deask
  • Dresser
  • Chest
  • Bed
  • 3 Drawers
  • 2 Wardrobes

Second Floor

On the second floor, you can search:

  • Table
  • Skeleton

Note: It's essential to be wary of the level 82 Lesser Demon on the final floor, and not all clues are necessary for continuation of the quest. You only need to search the drawers near the door of the bedroom on the first floor to receive a receipt.

If, however, you're curious about all the clues, we've listed them below:

  • Rose
  • Kourend Map
  • Demonic Incantation
  • Order Form
  • Delivery Confirmation
  • Bloody Knife
  • Receipt
  • Bone
  • Cultist Robe

Upon inspecting the receipt in A Kingdom Divided OSRS, you will see it indicates that there is an order for a bed at the Deeper Lode. Speak with Tomas Lawry near the roses in the home and tell him you've found something you believe could be useful to the investigation. However, as he is somewhat incompetent when you tell him you suspect that Sohpia went to Mount Quidamortem, he goes straight there without further question. Leaving you to speak with Fullore again, at which point you inform her you suspect Hughes went to the Deeper Lode.

You must then head there and go to a pub titled Lovakengj and speak with someone called Fuggy for your next AKD OSRS task. To get there, use the Jewelry of Jubilation teleport on Kharedst's Memoirs and then run east. When you speak with him, ask if he has had any councilors staying there recently, and he will say only one human customer has been there recently, and it was a woman who didn't appear to be a councilor. He then mentions that he overheard her say she was on her way to catch a ship to Port Piscarilius. When you ask Fuggy which ship she planned to take, the ground will shake briefly before he replies he believes it was Veo's ship.

a kingdom divided osrs

Facing Judgment in A Kingdom Divided OSRS

Make your way to Veo's ship in Port Piscarilius and speak with Cabin Boy Herbert, who is taking the place of Veos. He informs you that Veos wandered off in a trance following the earthquake. Continue OSRS AKD by asking if he has seen the councilor, and he tells you the ship will be leaving soon. At this point of the quest, another cutscene will play, depicting you confronting Hughes, who claims her crimes were coordinated with the other members of the Council and that they are simply betraying her in order to save themselves. After this, she will reference potentially playing a role in the former King's death and the disappearance of his daughter. Following this, she will summon a Judge of Yama to eliminate you both; unfortunately for her, she has been deemed to be taking advantage of Yama's generosity. The Judge incinerates her before turning attention to you, deeming you a threat to Yama

To continue with OSRS A Kingdom Divided, you must challenge the demon. It will then agree to remove your 'sins,' should you win the battle against it.

Fighting for Justice

The demon is immune to Magic and Ranged damage, leaving it only vulnerable to Melee. The Judge of Yama will also attack using primarily Melee, though at times, may teleport you to a further area of the dock before casting Waves of Fire at you. This will mean you must pass through the flames to continue your attack, as you can only complete this battle with Melee.

The first battle of A Kingdom Divided OSRS will take place on the thin piece of the pier, on an area four squares wide. Here, the demon will begin the onslaught by casting three Waves of Fire, leaving only a single square untouched. This leaves room for the possibility of dodging the attack entirely, so use these gaps to your advantage, get closer to the creature and dish out your attack. If you choose to go directly through the flames, you will be moderately damaged and receive a minor burn. Continue to repeat the process of dodging the flame and inflicting damage until you slay the demon.

If you die during this encounter or teleport for any reason, there will be a portal to re-enter the battle by Veo's ship; your grave can also be found by this portal in the event of death.

The Last Princess of A Kingdom Divided OSRS

At this stage of the A Kingdom Divided OSRS quest, another cutscene will begin showing Councilor Andrews thanking you for your assistance and informing you the investigation on Hughes's escape will continue. He then asks that you inform Martin Holt that the issue with Sophia has been resolved so he and the protestors can leave. However, before you can do so, Commander Fullore asks that you meet her outside the castle; you'll find her standing south of the castle, directly north of the Shayzien Mine, which can be accessed through a small door in the castle's south wall.

When speaking to the Commander, she will discuss some of the things Hughes said on the docks, providing some backstory on the old King and Rose, his daughter. Fullore then asks that you investigate the Council's conspiracies regarding the monarchy and suggests you start your line of questioning with Martin Holt, the leaders of the Kourend Royal Society and the expert on the royal family.

Find Martin for your next OSRS AKD task and ask him about Rose and her current whereabouts. He tells you that Rose wrote Kharedst's memoirs, which were recently sold at auction. However, her personal diary should still be in the Library Historical Archive. He then suggests speaking with Archeio in the Arceuus Library, as he can teleport you to the archive.

When you arrive in the Archive, pickpocket Istoria and receive a Bluish Key. You must then use this to open the purple display case on the eastern wall of the room's southeast corner, where you can obtain Rose's Diary. Upon reading it, you will unfortunately not find anything worthwhile. So, you must then return to Martin, and he will notice a note in the cover of the diary. He will read the note before handing it to you to do the same; when you do, you will find some instructions to discover more information.

Before you continue the search for answers, speak with Martin again, who will suggest splitting up while you decipher the location the note hints at. So, to gear up for your next OSRS A Kingdom Divided task, grab an axe from your bank and go to Forthos Ruins. Speak with Martin again on the west side of the north entrance, and he will inform you of the meaning of the note and why it must be in this location. He then goes on to explain his involvement with the Council in the past, the relationship between him and Commander Fullore and the overall corruption in Kourend's government.

After this conversation, search the four stone piles surrounding the ruins to discover the number combination, writing down each one you uncover. Each stone pile will have an inscription in which a letter is mapped to a number; for instance, the tile may say 'S-9,' which would suggest that the letter S maps out to the number 9.

osrs counciler andrews

Each of the combinations will be random for all players, so ensure you write them down. Cut down the vines south of Martin and squeeze through the gap. You must check a panel on the east wall of the small room you enter. Fill in the number combinations that match the numbers that spell out 'ROSE,' and this will provide you with an additional note. Read it and speak with Martin once more before you both split up again to meet at the next location.

For the next A Kingdom Divided OSRS task, you must have runes to cast a fire spell like Fire Bolt or higher. Once you have done so, head to the Settlement Ruins to the southwest of Wintertodt Camp. Be cautious of the aggressive Ice Wolves, Giants and Spiders while here. You will find Martin in the northwest building within the ruins. When you arrive and speak with Martin, a level 132 Assassin will appear and announce he is here to kill Martin; you must then kill him. The Assassin will attack using Dragon Dagger and Dragon Darts, so protection prayers will sadly not negate all damage. Despite this, the battle should not be too complicated in comparison with your encounter with the Judge of Yama.

This attack in AKD OSRS leads Martin to believe the Council has ordered his death, but when you point out that the Assassin only mentioned his name, the assumption is put to rest. Following this assault, you need to find a key that will open the panel in the ruins. So, cast Fire Bolt or a higher fire spell on the Ice Chunks located just west of the south part of the building you are currently in. This will melt the ice and reveal the Cold Key which you can obtain from searching the remains. Once you have the key in hand, return to Martin and check the panel in the west wall of the building he is standing by; this will provide you with yet another note you must read. When you have done so, speak with Martin again before moving on to the following location.

The next place you must visit in A Kingdom Divided OSRS is the Legless Faun, a pub in the southwest corner of Port Piscarilius. Meet with Martin again; he will provide you with more information on the current situation. You will then be required to climb the pillar just west of him, reaching the upper floor of the pub. Once there, search the panel on the north wall and keep note of the order in which the cities are listed. After doing so, climb back down the wall and inspect the statues here in the same order as shown in the panel, pressing it in for each statue. If you do this correctly, you will hear a click near you; upon hearing this, climb back up the pillar and check the panel to obtain the final note.

Yet another cutscene will play after you uncover the last note, showing you overlooking the balcony, seeing Lawry arrest Martin for his protest incites against the Council, leaving you alone to continue your investigation. Read the note you just received, and you will find the final location on the hunt for Rose. It is a small house just south of Mount Karuulm, and you can get there reasonably quickly with the use of the Fairy Ring (code c.i.r) or by teleporting to the Farming Guild using the Skills Necklace and then running to the northeast.

When you arrive, you must search the bed to find a Tatty note, just like the others; read it to find it is actually a letter from Rose to a certain 'L.O.' After this discovery, inspect the crates in the northwest corner of the shack and then climb down the hidden trapdoor.

Note: If you do not read both notes, you will not receive the 'inspect' option for the crates.

a kingdom divided osrs

At this stage of our A Kingdom Divided OSRS guide, yet another cutscene will play. This time, showing a woman, who is presumably Rose, lying on a large drone on the side of the underground room. At this point, a man enters, identified as Councillor Liam Orson of the Kourend Council. Following a short conversation, Fullore is brought in, and the both of you draw a confession from Liam. He reveals that he and the others of the Council killed the King in order to save the kingdom. Additionally, Rose is only being kept alive through the use of potions made by a mysterious mage, and that said mage lives with the lizardmen.

Note: If you happen to click anywhere other than the chat box during this cutscene, it will end, and you will be back in the shack. You must then re-inspect the crates to resume with the OSRS AKD quest.

Lizardmen and Mystery Mages

At this stage of the adventure, you better prepare for another battle of the ages, and you will now be up against an opponent at level 239 that will use several special mechanics. Consider using a Toxic Blowpipe or another good Ranged weapon to make the fight a little easier. However, even if you choose the Melee approach, you must consider armor with good Magic defense; something like the Dragonhide armor will be a good choice. If you take the Melee approach, an Abyssal Whip or higher-level weapon is recommended, though something like a Dragon Scimitar will do the job. If you're below level 80 in Combat, bringing at least 4 Prayer Potions, 20+ healing foods such as Sharks, and an emergency one-click teleport like the Teleport Tab is heavily recommended.

With all things considered, to continue OSRS A Kingdom Divided, head to the Lizardmen Temple in Molch. Use the Skills Necklace to teleport to the Farming Guild and then go to the southeast, entering the temple via and of the Lizard dwelling entrances. Once you enter the temple, go to the room to the north, and you'll find Kaht B'alm. Speak with him and ask if he can help you locate a mage, or more specifically, Yo'kal ahk. He will agree to help you with your task, but only in return for a favor. He wishes to flee the war against humans and wants to take his last egg with him, so you must retrieve it.

So, exit the temple through the strange hole found at the west end of the hallway, then go west into the swamp and south across the stone bridge. Here, you will find several Lizardman eggs and search them to find the correct pile; however, when you do, a level 75 Lizardman Brute will attack you. You can choose to battle the Brute or simply run away to return the egg to Kaht. When you provide him with the egg, he will give you a damp key that will unlock the small food on the north wall in the temple's corridor; this can be found very close to Kaht, near the bones on the floor. When you open this, you will find yourself in a small room that leads to a gate; open this gate to trigger yet another cutscene. During this cutscene, you will hear two unknown voices discussing the past events of the Great Kourend quest line. A short time later, the first voice is stated to be Xamphur, and the second is Veos. At this stage, Veos senses your presence and orders Xamphur to destroy you, causing you to be forcefully teleported to the chamber and attacked. Following this cutscene in A Kingdom Divided OSRS, you will enter into a boss fight with Xamphur.

osrs xamphur

Battling Xamphur in A Kingdom Divided OSRS

The first thing to note is that this boss is immune to Magic attacks and attacks primarily using this combat skill. So, using Protect from Magic will significantly reduce the damage he inflicts from his basic attack.

Around the room, you will also notice several Marks of Darkness on the floor. If you walk over them, you will be inflicted with the Mark of Darkness effect, meaning his basic attack will become twice as effective and cause corruption twice as often if corrupted by another mechanic. You must also be aware that Xamphur can bind you in place, so ensure you never stand on a Mark of Darkness, or the consequences will be catastrophic to the battle.

It is highly recommended to turn off Auto Retaliate and running during this encounter, as well as picking a row of tiles that you can move on and only walk them throughout the duration of the fight. This will also mean that you can easily avoid his crushing attack later in the battle.

Aside from the basic attack, Xamphur will use two special mechanics that will take place every ten attacks. You will be made aware these attacks are coming when he uses one of these two phrases:

  • You will fall by my hand
  • Your fate is in my hands

Below are the mechanics, the actions, and the prayer to use in order to lessen the damage.

Mechanic One

Hands fall every game tick for 5-10 seconds. You must then walk around the room, avoiding the Marks of Darkness. Simply stepping between two tiles at the correct moment can also work. Pray Magic for this mechanic.

Mechanics Two

Two phantom hands will spawn; you must kill the hands as soon as possible (they have 12 hitpoints). They can also cause Corruption when inflicting damage. If you have a high Prayer level, pray Magic; if not, use Melee.

During this A Kingdom Divided OSRS battle, if you happen to leave, die, or teleport out of the arena, simply reentering the door will start the fight back up, and you will find your gravestone near the entrance.

Following the defeat of Xamphur, he will state that your efforts are amusing, and he releases a powerful bolt of magic that appears to kill you. A cutscene will then display two Lizardmen coming to dispose of your body, but they instead flee the scene upon discovering you are still alive. Once you get back on your feet, search the table to the north wall of the room and read the note you find. The note will reveal that Xamphur was the one responsible for the events that unfolded in The Ascent of Arceuus quest. So, after you read this, continue with OSRS AKD and return to Fullore in the basement of the shack.

A Kingdom Divided OSRS - The Houses of Kourend

Upon arrival in the basement, you will be shown another cutscene that shows you explaining to Fullore the events that have occurred. Fullore then informs you she has confirmed through research that the potions are indeed the only thing keeping Rose alive. With this newfound heavy knowledge, Fullore decides to mercy kill Rose before you both bury her outside the house. She then asks that you speak with the leaders of the five houses, as they possess the power to overthrow the Council. You must go past all of the five cities to ask that the leaders come to the Xeric's Lookout.

Take a look below at where you can find each of the leaders:

  • Lord Arceuus - The upper level of the Tower of Magic northwest of Arceuus.
  • Lord Hosidius - In the family Mansion in Hosidius, northwest of the Vinery.
  • Lady Lovakengj - In the Lovakengj Assembly in Lovakengj.
  • Lady Piscarilius - In the Warrens under Port Piscarilius.
  • Lord Shayzien - In the upper level of the War Tent in the Shayzien Encampment.

After you speak with all of them and request they come to the Xeric's Lookout, make your way there and talk with Fullore once more. Yet another cutscene will follow, and you will see the five leaders, Fullore, Orson and yourself, discussing current events and confronting Orson for his part in it all. Some discussions of what is to be done following the deposition of the Council then take place, with Lord Kandur Hosidius suggesting the Royal Accord of Twill as the solution.

Next, in AKD OSRS, you must go to the different floors of the Lookout, including Lord Arceuss, who is outside the entrance. Speak with each of the leaders before doing any of the tasks they provide you; this will allow you to do them all at once and save some time. Each of the leaders will provide you with their opinion on the Royal Accord. After speaking with Lady Lovakengj, it is essential that you talk with Commander Fullore and inform her you need help with Lady Lovakengj. Once you have done so, the tasks can be completed in any order. Below, you will find the requests and walkthrough for this section of OSRS A Kingdom Divided:

Lady Lovakengj

Speak with her, now on the second floor of the Lookout, and she will inform you she wants to replace Councillor Andres with Councillor Unkar, so you must convince her that Unkar was not an innocent party in these ongoing events. Talk to Fullore regarding this, and she will recommend that you speak with Martin Holt to find out Unkar's connection to this conspiracy. You will find Martin in the Shayzien Prison, to the west of the Graveyard of Heroes. Ensure you have spoken with Commander Fullore before this, or you will be unable to speak with Martin.

Next, head to the prison in A Kingdom Divided OSRS, make your way down the staircase and speak with Martin: you'll find him in one of the four cells there. On your first attempt, a guard will try to stop you, but he steps back when you inform him the Council has sent you. Martin will inform you that he himself has no direct evidence of Unkar's involvement but advises you go to find his contact, a dwarf, in the Royal Society's meeting using the phrase 'Evil only triumphs when the good do nothing.'

Head to the Graveyard of Heroes and speak to Jorra, Vulcana's assistant; tell him the phrase, and Jorra will tell you some information he has acquired. At this point in OSRS AKD, a second Assassin will attack you. Slay the Assassin and continue with your conversation to get a Declaration; read it and discover that there was a plan to overthrow Lady Lovakengj. Take this note back to her, and she will be shocked to discover that Councillor Unkar was plotting to remove her, and she will agree to sign the new accord.

Lord Hosidius

You will find this Lord in the basement of the Lookout, and he will request your assistance with investigating the involvement of Lord Shayzien in the Barbarian Camp to the south. Make your way to the cap in the Kourend Woodlands to the southeast of Rada's Blessing Kourend Woodland teleport and then down a ladder next to the southern wall. When you do so, Phileas Rimor will speak with you from a cell; this will cause a level 91 Barbarian Warlord who has Phileas captive to attack. Kill the Warlord and speak once more with Phileas, who tells you that he has been captured by Barbarians who informed him they did so as a task for someone. The Barbarians also stole his package, which contained King Shayvien VII's journal.

Take this information back to Lord Hosidius, who theorized that Lord Shayzien wanted to hide information that could link his house to Xeric; he then agrees to sign the new accord.

Lord Shayzien

Go to the first-floor lookout to speak with Lord Shayzien, who asks that you find King Shayzien VII's journal in Lord Hosidius' office, hidden at the south end of the Hosidius Vinery. Use the Xeric's Talisman' Glade' teleport and go east to the Vinery. Inspect the wine barrel to the east and uncover a trapdoor. Climb down, pick the lock of the chest in the corner, and receive the journal. With the journal now in your inventory, head back to Lord Shayzien, and he will then agree to sign the accord.

Lady Piscarilius

Find Lady Piscarilius on the third floor of the Lookout and she tells you that she wishes to have the cult of Yama stopped by getting an Arceuus mage called Mori to try to prevent the connection between the Disciples of Yama and Yama himself.

So, to continue with A Kingdom Divided OSRS, head to the Arceuus church and find Mori on the top floor of the church. She will explain that she plans to use the Dark Altar to sever the connection between Yama and his followers, but she'll need some molten glass and a Dark Essence block. Provide Mori with these items, and she will hand you back the Dark Nullifier; you must hide this in the Chasm of Fire to stop the cult from contacting Yama. So, make your way to the Chasm and try to climb down. You will unfortunately be stopped by a Disciple, and they will take the device and take you to the forest to the south, believing the device has been planted. Go back to Lady Piscarilius, and she will agree to sign the accord but still voices her distaste for the plan.

Lord Arceuus

You'll find Lord Arceuus just outside the Lookout, and he will ask you to investigate whether Xamphur is the same mage that served Xeric long ago. You will need to go to Tasakaal in Mount Jaruulm and show them the broken redirector to get help. Enter Mount Karuulm and speak to any of the Tasakaal sitting at the center of the first room. They will analyze the broken redirector and trace the history of it, too. Many humans, as well as the people of Arceuus, have used it, but it also has traces of two others: one touched by Fire and the other touched by Darkness. The one touched by Darkness was the one who served Xeric, and it is concluded that the one touched by Fire is a pyromancer who damaged the Doors of Dinh.

To avoid further damage to the Doors of Dinh, the Tasakaal will offer to make a potionthat will reinforce the Dark Altar that powers these doors. Use the Volcanic sulfur on a Defense potion with at least three doses to create a sulfur potion before speaking with the Tasakaal again and having them enchant it to create a shielding potion.

Go to Wintertodt Camp and use the shielding potion on the doors before returning to Lord Arceuus to finish this segment of AKD OSRS. He will inform you that the Xamphur you met was indeed the same one from back then, making him quite worrisome. Inform Lord Arceuus that the Pyrmancers were working with Xamphur to sabotage the Doors of Dinh. He will inform you he finds this information to be very valuable but that the issue with the Council must be resolved first and agrees to sign the accord.

Bringing the End to A Kingdom Divided in OSRS

After finalizing the tasks with all the leaders in the Lookout, talk again with Commander Fullore, who reveals that Orson's body has been found at the bottom of the tower, suspecting he was pushed or jumped of his own volition. Following this information, all of the leaders will convene in the basement to sign the accord; all of them, including Shayzien, agree that Lord Hosdius shall be the new King of Kourend before titling the accord 'Rose's Accord' in honor of the late princess.

A cutscene will ensue, followed by Commander Fullore telling you about the decisions that have been made. She is confused by Lord Shayzien's reluctance to be the leader and noted Lord Hosidius asked to speak with you. Head down the ladder and speak with him, and he will reveal that he got Lord Shayzien to withdraw by informing him that the attempted cover-up of the journal of the old King and the capture of Phileas Rimor would be too humiliating for him to deal with, causing him to withdraw his attempt at taking the throne.

With that explained, head back to Fullore and trigger the final cutscene of A Kingdom Divided OSRS. You will see the final members of the Council being arrested, and Lord Hosidius is crowned the new King. A banquet takes place to celebrate the new monarch, and Lord Arceuus will teach you some spells discovered in the Xamphur hideout. You will then speak with Fullore again, and she will point out a guest from Varlamore. The coronation speech is made by the King, followed by you having a private conversation with him, in which he requests to call on your services again in future since they now have enough information on Xamphur.

In an unfortunate turn of events in OSRS A Kingdom Divided, the plan never comes to fruition as another Assassin will appear and kill the King. Following this cutscene, speak with Commander Fullore for the final time, and she will be utterly surprised by burying a king as quickly as he was coronated before his son is declared the new King. She will then hand you your rewards, and the book Lord Arceuus stated he would give to you, and there you have the end of our A Kingdom Divided OSRS guide!
