What OSRS Items Should You Patch?

In OSRS, plants can become diseased during growth cycles. When this happens, you have two options: cure them or let them die. Curing is almost always the better choice, especially for valuable crops.

Items Worth Patching

You should patch these farming items when they become diseased:

  • Herb patches (particularly ranarr, snapdragon, and torstol)
  • Fruit tree patches (especially palm trees)
  • Tree patches (especially magic trees)
  • Special patches (celastrus, redwood, spirit trees)
  • Hespori patch

These plants have high seed costs or long growing times, making them worth saving with Plant Cure or secateurs.

How to Patch Plants

  1. Notice the diseased status (plants will look wilted with a yellow icon)
  2. Use Plant Cure on the patch or use secateurs directly on the plant
  3. The plant will return to healthy status and continue growing

Money-Saving Tips

If you're trying to save money while farming, you might want to buy OSRS gold to invest in farming equipment that prevents disease entirely. The Bottomless Compost Bucket and ultra compost significantly reduce disease chances.

When deciding what OSRS items should you patch, remember that high-value seeds and long-growing crops should always be cured, while common items can be left to die if you want to save on Plant Cure.

Happy farming!
