WoW 20th Anniversary - What’s New?

Given that we’re celebrating 20 years of World of Warcraft, there’s quite a bit to look at. There are new pets, mounts, tier changes, rewards, and so much more to dive into during this event. Fortunately, you’ll have until January 6th, 2025, to work your way through it all. So, let’s get started with what you can gain for all your efforts in the event:

WoW 20th Anniversary Rewards

You’ll be glad to know that there is plenty up for grabs, some of which you must earn and others that can be purchased throughout the festivities. wow 20th anniversary, new currency

New Celebratory Currency in the 20th Anniversary Celebration of WoW

Bronze Celebration Tokens are the new currency in WoW, exclusive to this anniversary event. Obtaining and collecting them can allow you to purchase some of the time-sensitive and event-related attributes from Celebration Vendors.

How to get Bronze Celebration Tokens

There are a few ways to get your hands on them; firstly, you’ve got weekly activities in Khaz Algar, and then there are the quests and events at the Anniversary Celebration.

Quests are classed as one-time sources of obtaining the tokens. Completing the quest “Meet and Greet” will provide you with four tokens, and the quest “Truth of the Dark Irons” gives 5. Repeatable sources typically come in the form of weekly activities, though sometimes daily activities are included.

Weekly events in Khaz Algar provide one token, completing quests there offer two, and the weekly quests give three. Once you have 100 of the Bronze Celebration Tokens, you will receive the “Token Collector” achievements, which will allow tokens to drop from repeatable activities in the event.

What to Expect From the OSRS Sailing Alpha What to Expect From the OSRS Sailing Alpha Game Updates

The long-awaited skill is just over the horizon, with the OSRS Sailing release date speculated to be in Autumn this year. However, for now, the Alpha launch will have to suffice. So, what’s to be expected?

The Sailing Alpha is an open-play test, brimming with adventure and an exciting feat for developers and their two-plus years of work, so let’s take a look.

Firstly, we have a new quest, “Pandemonium,” which teaches players how to sail, dock, and get acquainted with Sailing in OSRS. This quest will also see players navigate Pandemonium, an island designed as a home port, while they explore the seven seas.

The completion of this quest rewards players with a “Captain’s Log” that can be used to track Port Tasks and other aspects of sea life.

Following the introductory quest, players will command their own vessel, which in the early stages is simply a raft. At level 10, players are able to purchase a small boat, and as they progress through the levels, more will become available.

With the OSRS sailing skill, players will be able to buy, retrieve and customize their boats by conversing with a Shipwright, who can be found on many docks near the Salvaging Station.

Customizations will allow not only cosmetic upgrades but those that will make the vessel more hardy, thus allowing players to take on more treacherous journeys through the water. Most of these customizations are done by speaking to the Shipwright, while some materials can be found in the handy chest at the Port Sarim noticeboard.

Here are some available customizations for players to toy with in the testing stage:

  • Bronze Salvaging Hiok
  • Iron Salvaging Hook
  • Wind Catcher
  • Cargo Hold
  • Oak Mast
  • Anchor

There is also set to be a multiplayer aspect of this skill, though it is still in its early stages. As of now, players can enter each other's boats, sail together, and enjoy adventures, all provided that they have adequate sailing levels.

To accommodate this new skill, new areas of the map have additionally been introduced, repurposing blue tiles and creating Shallow, Open, and Deep waters to be explored. For now, these adaptations are purely cosmetic and will not hinder speed, ability, etc., though this is subject to change with the introduction of hazardous waters and the “Barracuda Trials.”

Port Tasks are another exciting upcoming aspect of the OSRS Sailing skill. These tasks are low-intensity training methods to allow players to travel from port to port, helping NPCs with their objectives. These tasks can be found on notice boards around most ports.

There is sure to be a substantial increase in content as the Sailing skill in OSRS takes hold, though for now, players will have to settle to get acquainted with the basics. If you need to buy OSRS gold to ease your transition, don’t forget to check out our services.

WoW The Siren Isle - The Storm Wrecked Island WoW The Siren Isle - The Storm Wrecked Island Game Updates

Welcome back to the Chicks Gold blog series! This week, we’re bringing you news of the latest occurrences in the WoW universe, discussing the up-and-coming The Siren Isle in WoW. This storm-wrecked island was used as a source of Azerite by the Ashvane Company in the Fourth War. However, since the events of the war, the citizens have mysteriously disappeared; fortunately, though The Siren Isle will be uncovering the secrets behind these mysteries in the 11.0.7 patch. So, if you want to gain some insight before the release of this new exciting content, you’re in the perfect place, as we’re here to break it all down. Let’s get started!

wow the siren isle, unlocking the area

WoW The Siren Isle - The Need To Know

The Siren Isle WoW The War Within release date is December 17th, so there’s plenty of time to prepare yourself. The first thing you’ll want to know is how to unlock the WoW The War Within Siren Isle, so let’s take a look.

Unlocking WoW The Siren Isle

When the time comes, you’ll need to unlock the area by completing a quest line from Dawn. You must do so inside the Foundation Hall in Dornogal. The “The Expedition Awaits” quest will start you on the path of a short quest line, which will eventually take you to the Siren Isle. Following this, you’ll work through an introduction quest line, which will take around 20 minutes.

After these tasks, you’ll have access to the Siren Isle’s main activities and the catch-up ring ‘Cyrce’s Circlet.’ Below are the list of activities you’ll need to complete to start your Siren Isle journey:

  • The Expedition Awaits
  • To the Siren Isle!
  • Friendly Competition
  • To Scan a Crystal
  • Facet-mating Signals
  • The Second Signal
  • Cave Barging
  • Buried Secrets
  • The Radiant Vault (unlocks Cyrce’s Circlet)
  • Reforged Anew (unlocks Windinger’s Runed Citrine)
  • The Circlet Calls

WoW The Siren Isle - Mole Machine

You will first arrive at the Isle via a Zeppelin from Dornogal. However, once you complete the introduction, you can access the Mole Machine. This will be stationed outside of Gundargaz in the Ringing Deeps, and you can use it to travel between the Siren Isle in WoW and many other areas.

wow the siren isle, map

Flying on The Siren Isle

You will be able to use two methods of flight while on the isle, the first being ‘normal flying,’ which can only be used on non-storm Siren Isle, and ‘experimental go-pack,’ which, when used, propels you upwards into the air and then gives you a glider. The latter flight option can be used on both versions of the isle.

Go-Packs

These rockets will be used to propel you into the air; then, you will receive a glider to use for a more accurate landing. To gain access to the go-pack, you’ll need to complete the ‘Peak Precision’ quest, and you will then be able to purchase them from Sally Btwrench by Florsam Shoal when on the non-storm isle. Each pack costs you 10 Flame-Blessed Iron and will last for one hour; with you being able to hold up to 10 in your inventory at a time.

Normal Flight

As you spend more time on the Siren Isle, you’ll work through some quests that provide upgrades to your Cyrce’s Circlet. The final quest, ‘Cyrce Would Be So Proud,’ shows you how to master the Isle’s strong winds, and once you finalize the adventure, you can fly in the Isle while it isn’t storming. This means that when a storm is happening the ‘Seafury Tempest’ will prevent flight. Because of this, you can choose whether you enter the Isle while it’s storming or not, but you will be provided with different objectives to complete and enemies to defeat, depending on your choice.

wow the siren isle, what's new

What’s New In WoW The Siren Isle

There’s plenty to do in this new expansion, and we’ve broken it all down below so you can prepare for what’s to come:

Cyrce’s Circlet Ring

This new equipment shares similarities with the Onyx Amulet from Dragonflight for those familiar with the item. The ring has three slots/sockets for different effects of gems called ‘Singing Citrines.’ All of these have a range of effects that can help you build a powerful ring. Take a look below at the differing Citrines and effects, as well as their source if known; those with unknown origins will be marked CU (currently unknown).

  • Roaring War (CU) - Queen’s Citrine - your abilities and spells will have a low chance of triggering the ‘Singing Thunder Citrine’ effects of up to four allies nearby. Additionally, whenever an ally player dies, the effect will be immediately triggered.
  • Stormbringer’s Runed Citrine (CU) - provides 440 of all secondary stats.
  • Storm Sewer’s Citrine (CU) - spells and abilities have a chance to shield allies with lightning and absorb the subsequent 264,193 damage taken over 10 seconds. With the shield in effect, attacks take 10% of the amount absorbed as Nature damage.
  • Thunderlord’s Crackling Citrine (The Drain - Major Excavation Event) - your spells and abilities have a chance of calling enemies and inflicting 176,128 Nature damage.
  • Fathomdweller’s Runed Citrine (CU) - grants 1,408 Mastery, and all other Singing Citrine effects will be increased based on your Mastery total.
  • Mariner’s Hallowed Citrine (The Drowned Lair - Major Excavation Event) - all abilities and spells have a chance of bathing an ally in restorative water, which jumps to two nearby allies, in turn restoring their health by 146,809 each.
  • Seabed Leviathan's Citrine (Quest: Serpent’s Wrath) - gives 7,658 Stamina and slightly increases your size. If you are above 80% health, attackers will also be inflicted with 8,838 Frost damage.
  • Undersea Overseer’s Citrine (CU) - spells and abilities have the chance to drench enemies in freezing seawater, which will bounce to two other nearby foes. Each will be dealt 97,873 Frost damage.
  • Legendary Skipper’s Citrine (CU) - your abilities and spells come with a chance to cast a random Singing Citrine effect with an effectiveness of 150%.
  • Old Salt’s Bardic Citrine (CU) - causes spells and abilities to come with a change of whispering sea shanties to give nearby allies, which will heal them 123203 over a five-second period.
  • Squall Sailor’s Citrine (CU) - abilities and spells have a chance at slicing five enemies with a rushing Seabreeze, inflicting 82,243 Nature damage to each of them.
  • Windsinger’s Runed Citrine (Quest: The Circlet Calls) - provides 1,760 of your highest secondary stat.

New WoW The Siren Isle Currency

In The Siren Isle in The War Within, there will be a new currency for players to make use of called ‘Flame-Blessed Iron,’ which can be obtained by completing a multitude of activities around the islands. You can then use them to purchase attributes from the vendors there, such as catch-up gear, additional gems for the Cyrce’s Circlet, and donations to trigger Major Excavations*. Below, we have listed the different common methods you can use to build your Flame-Blessed Iron bank:

  • Common mobs - provide 1-5 F-BI
  • Elite mobs - provide 5-25 F-BI
  • Rare mobs - provide 100-150 F-BI
  • Treasure Chests - provides 25/75 F-BI
  • Major Excavation Events - provides 250-300 F-BI from the boss encounter
  • Daily Quests - provide 200 F-BI

*Major Excavations are world events that are offered by donations of Flame-Blessed Iron. You can make these donations by interacting with the Command Map in the middle of Flotsam Shoal. Every contribution must be a minimum of 5F-BI, and 30 must be made to trigger an event.

You can also use this newfound currency to purchase yourself some catch-up gear for alts. This includes a range of Cloth, Leather, Mail, and Plate gear, as well as Cloaks, Jewellery, and Weapons in both hands-off and ranged.

This week, we’ll be working through the steps to victory in the Firelands WoW raid. We’ll take a look at the layout, loot, strategies, achievements and more to give you a crystal clear vision of success. This is the main raid of the third phase of Cataclysm, giving players an intense adventure where the stakes are high and teamwork is essential. Between 10 to 25 players can group together to take on this challenging battle, so gear up, get your ducks in a row, and get ready for war! Let’s get started with how to reach this heart-racing battle:

firelands raid wow, boss map

WoW - How to Get to The Firelands Raid?

Within your map, you will see Mount Hyjal, and within this area, the Firelands can be found in a zone to the south and surrounded by lava. This is where you can find the vendor for the raid and a summoning stone you can use to summon the rest of your group before entering the WoW Firelands Road entrance. The next thing to get to grips with is the layout of the Firelands raid in WoW. So let's take a look:

Firelands Raid WoW Layout

When you enter, you’ll see that the first section contains five of the seven enemies that you will be facing. Here are the bosses you’ll be facing here:

  • Shannox
  • Lord Rhyolith
  • Beth’tilac
  • Alysrazor
  • Baleroc The Gatekeeper

You can take on the first four in any particular order before battling Baleroc to unlock the next area of the Firelands WoW raid. Once you have done so, enter the second area, where you will encounter Majordomo Staghelm in battle. Lastly, you must face Ragnaros.

The next thing we’ll be exploring in this WoW Firelands raid guide is the Boss strategies to ensure you’re well prepared for the fight ahead. So, let’s get started!

Firelands Raid WoW - Strategies

Each of the seven bosses has their own unique mechanic, which you must master in order to take the win. So, wrapping your head around these before you run into the battlefield will drastically improve your success rates; let’s check out a little bit about each of the enemies you’ll be taking on.

firelands raid wow, shannox

Shannox - Battle Strategies

This boss will patrol the entire front area of the Firelands, giving you more options as to when and where you want this battle to take place. So you’ll want to make sure you have cleared the area you want to use as a battleground, as you’ll be making a lot of movements throughout the fight.

Role-Specific Tips

  • DPS - remain alert of new traps and be prepared to move at a moment’s notice, especially when considering melee DPS. You must also move away from any “Hurl Spear” or “Magna Rupture” locations, as they can easily kill you.
  • Healer - tanks require frequent movement during this Firelands Raid WoW encounter, so ensure you’re always within range of your target to keep them on their feet. You’d also want to coordinate defensive cooldowns for every “Magma Rupture” towards the end of the battle.
  • Tank - your main priority in this encounter is to manage your “Jagged Tear” debuffs, and don’t be afraid to kite if necessary. You and the other tank must also remain aware of each other's positions to keep as much distance between the foes' attacks and weapons. Lastly, you’ll want to try to keep any major defensive cooldowns for the burst phase at the end of the battle.

Shannox Abilities

The last thing we’ll be looking at regarding this WoW Firelands raid boss is his movesets. So, check them out!

  • Immolation Trap
  • Crystal Prison Trap
  • Arcing Slash
  • Jagged Tear
  • Hurl Spear
  • Separation Anxiety
  • Frenzy
  • Magma Rupture

Riplimb

  • Limb Rip
  • Wary
  • Frenzied Devotion

Rageface

  • Face Rage
  • Wary
  • Separation Anxiety

firelands raid wow, rhyolith

Lord Rhyolith - Battle Strategies

For this second encounter, you and your team must control his movements by attacking his left or right leg. Whichever you choose to direct your attacks at will see him turning in that direction. Because of this, you and your fellow players must strategize the best ways to attack in order to coordinate movements and balance out the fight. You can dismiss this strategy and go straight to dealing damage directly to his torso, but this may see you and your team holding less control over the match.

This Firelands raid in WoW battle will see Lord Rhyolith using a built-in soft-enrage mechanic in “Superheated” after 6 minutes of combat (in heroic, it’s only 5 minutes). This mechanic will see Lord Rhyolith gain a stack of Superheated every ten seconds, and he will wipe out the raid if you fail to stop him shortly after the buff is gained.

Role-Specific Tips

  • DPS - melee DPS need to learn to coordinate and follow a single-direction caller to pilot the boss. Focusing adds down quickly while acting as a ranged DPS should be a top priority, and you will always be able to attack the boss's torso if you wish to avoid directional changes.
  • Healer - keep an eye on players with high stacks of “Eruption,” as AoE damage can easily kill them. In this position, you should also rotate raid-wide defensive cooldowns when Lord Rhyolith has high stacks of Superheated in phase two.
  • Tank - when your team has enough ranged DPS to kill adds quickly, you can solo tank the battle with ease and earn an extra DPS. Grab adds quickly as they spawn and stack or move them out of the raid to kill them as soon as possible. You must also be ready with your taunt as soon as the boss hits 25% health, as this is when he activates and starts the attacks on you and your team.

Lord Rhyolith Abilities - Phase One

  • Obsidian Armor
  • Molten Armor
  • Concussive Stomp
  • Drink Magma

Volcano

  • Eruption

Crater

  • Magma Flow
  • Summon Fragment of Rhyolith
  • Fragment of Rhyolith

Spark of Rhyolith

  • Immolation
  • Infernal Rage

Lord Rhyolith Abilities - Phase Two

  • Immolation
  • Unleashed Flame
  • Superheated

firelands raid wow, beth’tilac

Beth’tilac - Battle Strategies

When you and your team take on this creature, you’ll need to split into two groups: a ground-level group and a web group. In the ground group, you’ll need your AoE DPS, and you’ll be focusing on killing spider adds as the fight progresses. Your web-group will consist of one tank, at least one healer, and as much DPS as can be spared from the ground group.

Those on the ground must aim to kill the spider adds before the next spawn, and any DPS which can be spared should go to the web-group to throw as much damage as possible at Beth’tilac before the second phase begins. This Firelands raid WoW boss has the unique resource of Fire Energy, and she will start the battle with full Fire Energy, which will slowly be drained over time. This energy can be siphoned from her ”Cinderweb Drone” broods, which come to her assistance throughout the fight. Once her Fire Energy is entirely depleted, she will unleash “Smoldering Devastation,” which will end any players at the top of the web. After casting this three times, she will descend from the web and begin phase two.

Role-Specific Tips

  • DPS - killing “Cinderweb Spiderlings” is essential and must be done efficiently. Don’t waste too much damage on over-killing adds. Take some time to ensure “Cinderweb Drones” do not deplete any Fire Energy, as you will be able to inflict far less damage before phase two.
  • Healer - since tons of AoE damage is a factor in this Firelands raid WoW encounter, it’s important to coordinate healing assignments to keep the raid going as long as possible. When in heroic difficulty, you must also take time to assist plates targeted by Drones.
  • Tank - grab Cinderweb Drones quickly, face them away from the raid, and kite them from any approaching Spiderlings if they get too close. In the second phase, tanks must swap for “Widow’s Kiss.”

Beth’tilac Abilities - Phase One

  • Ember Flame
  • Meteor Burn
  • Venom Rain
  • Consume
  • Smoldering
  • Devastation

Cinderweb Spinner

  • Burning Acid

Cinderweb Drone

  • Consume
  • Boiling Splatter
  • Burning Acid
  • Fixate

Cinderweb Spiderling

Seeping Venom

Beth’tilac Abilities - Phase Two

  • Frenzy
  • The Widow’s Kiss
  • Ember Flare
  • Consume

Now that we’ve covered our third boss in the Firelands raid in WoW, let’s move on to the forth!

firelands raid wow, alysrazor

Alysrazor - Battle Strategies

For this boss encounter in the Firelands WoW raid, you’ll notice that it has four phases, with you and your team taking on numerous adds, deadly flames and literal gravity itself. Despite these four phases, most of your team's focus will center around the first phase, which lasts three minutes (four minutes and ten seconds in heroic). When enraged, the boss will blast the area with “Firestorm,” which will cover the WoW Firelands raid entrance and exits with Volcanic Fire before taking flight over the battlefield. Alysrazor will then do a strafe-run over the field once a minute, attending those in range with Blazing Claw.

This is where you’ll see her dropping Molten Feathers, which you can collect to gain a buff (up to three feathers can be collected).

Role-Specific Tips

  • DPS - kill adds as efficiently as possible and do not waste damage on padding or overkill. You must also keep your Blazing Power stacks if you want to kill this boss quickly.
  • Healer - keep your tank in your sights during phase one; they’ll need to move a lot during this first phase and may need your assistance at a moment's notice; they’re subject to massive damage in the fourth phase, too, so be ready with defensive cooldowns.
  • Tank - keep your healers in your sights, working with them to ensure you can get the help you need when you need it. Make sure you keep the “Voracious Hatchlings” constantly facing away from the raid to prevent the “Gushing Wound” from affecting other teammates. Lastly, ensure you rotate defensive cooldowns in phase four to survive “Blazing Claw.”

firelands raid wow, baleroc

Baleroc - Battle Strategies

This is the fourth boss encounter in the Firelands Raid WoW, and it must be defeated after you have battled the first four in any particular order. It is the downfall of this boss which will open the gates to the deeper sections of the Firelands for you and your team to take home the win. Fortunately, this battle is fairly straightforward and acts more as a gear check with only a few mechanical responsibilities. Your main concern will be the mechanic the DPS will be dealing with, namely the “Shards of Torment,” which appear throughout the room. For every shard, at least one player must have their focus on it, as if one spawns, and if left alive unattended, it will cast “Wave of Torment” and wipe the raid.

Role-Specific Tips

  • DPS - keep a close eye on “Shards of Torment” and position them within melee range, surrounding them where possible. When playing the WoW Firelands raid in heroic difficulty, be more mindful of the “Tormented” debuff to prevent it from spreading.
  • Healer - find harmony with your two healer squads; have one focus on stacking “Vital Spark” and the other on keeping the tanks standing. The stacks of Vital Spark will last for 60 seconds and will reset after activating “Vital Flame” to allow you to keep stacks. Lastly, as a healer, ensure you don’t get carried away with stacks and communicate when you need to swap duties with other bailable healers to keep the tanks standing.
  • Tank - use avoidance gear to dodge, parry and miss attacks made during “Inferno Blaze” and “Decimation Blade.” You must also always keep your eye on the Shards of Torment positioning in melee range to ensure you aren’t slain by the Tormented debuff.

Baleroc Abilities

  • Decimation Blade
  • Decimating Strike
  • Inferno Blade
  • Inferno Strike
  • Blaze of Glory
  • Incendiary Soul
  • Shards of Torment
  • Wave of Torment
  • Torment

firelands raid wow, majordomo

Majordomo Staghelm - Battle Strategies

For the sixth Firelands raid in WoW and the final step between your team and Ragnaros, you’ll need to manage multiple buffs, as well as his two shapeshifting forms. “Cat form” and “Scorpion form” will activate differently depending on your team's positioning during the raid. For every time he shifts form, he will gain a stack of “Fury,” which will increase all damage dealt by 8% per stack, acting like a soft-enrage, preventing the raid from skipping an undesirable form. Either form being in use will cause Majordomo Staghelm to gain energy up to 100, which, once reached, will use a unique ability (varies depending on form). With each special ability, a stack of “Adrenaline” will increase energy regeneration by 20% per stack.

Role-Specific Tips

  • DPS - make killing the “Spirit of the Flames” as fast as possible a priority in this section of the Firelands raid in WoW to keep the Cat form in action for as long as you can. The flames from “Leaping Flames” can kill in seconds, so be ready with movement abilities at the ready for a quick exit. When in heroic difficulty, maintain maximum “Concentration” stacks wherever possible to ensure you meet the DPS requirements.
  • Healer - be prepared to carry out a mana-intensive and quick-healer-reaction-based battle, being mindful of players with high stacks of “Burning Orb” debuffs; this mechanic deals damage for 8 seconds after soaking new stacks has been stopped.
  • Similarly to DPS, in heroic difficulty, you must maintain maximum “Concentration” stacks to meet healing requirements.
  • Tank - save defensive cooldowns so that when healers are struggling, you can keep the raid alive. You’ll also want to consider minor defensive cooldowns and damage-reducing debuffs to take on multiple Spirit of the Flames to keep Cat form in play.

Majordomo Staghelm Abilities

  • Concentration
  • Fury
  • Adrenaline
  • Cat Form

Leaping Flames

  • Spirit of the Flame
  • Scorpion Form
  • Flame Scythe

Night Elf Form

  • Fiery Cyclone
  • Searing Seeds
  • Burning Orbs

Ragnaros - Battle Strategies

It’s time to check out the final boss in this Firelands raid in WoW guide. So, gear up as we prepare to go head to head with the Fire Lord once more. The battle ahead is not an easy one, and each and every member of your team must be ready to lock in, listen up, and fight to the death. Ragnaros will be in the center of a lava pool, which can cause you some hefty damage if you stand in it. The battle consists of three phases, each having a short intermission between them, and in heroic difficulty, you’ll find a fourth phase. Since the battle is quite intensive, we’d recommend taking a few trial runs or learning the phases intently before proceeding; if you do take on the challenge blindly, do quick pulls back-to-back in phase one and intermission one to find your feet. To get this part of the Firelands raid WoW journey started, you’ll want to spread your team out into 4 group positions, with your ranged and healers at least 6 yards apart.

Role-Specific Tips

  • DPS - the final battle is almost entirely movement-based, so you’ll want to prioritize proper positioning and placement before anything else. Search for the fiery light beams to gauge where the “Son of Flames” will spawn, allowing you to react to those closest to the hammer as quickly as possible. Lastly, don’t be afraid to use your personal defensive cooldown in difficult times of the battle to give your healers a short break.
  • Healer - buckle up for an extremely long mana, intensive, and heavy healing battle. Remain alert to top up low-health players before “Hand of Ragnaros,” “Wrath of Ragnaros,” or “Magma Trap Eruption” is dealt. You must also be extra attentive to potentiometers' “Dreadflame” fire patches and be ready to administer raid-wide defensive cooldowns.
  • Tank - tank swap for every 3-5 stacks of “Burning Wound,” save defensive cooldowns for times when your healer is moving from multiple mechanics at once, and keep the “Lava Scions” near “Son of Flames” to allow them to be AoE’d down together. Lastly, be cautious of the “Entrapping Roots” position in the fourth phase; you’ll need to keep Ragnaros near them, but do not activate them.

Firelands Raid WoW - FAQ

As with all of our guides, it’s time to take a look at some of those frequently asked questions that play on our reader's minds and put any of your doubts to rest:

Is the WoW Firelands Raid Difficult?

This isn’t one of the hardest raids out there, but that’s not to say it’s a walk in the park, either. In normal difficulty, players must have at least level 35 to participate, but we, of course, always recommend higher levels to give that added edge. Additionally, you must factor in your group size, as even in heroic difficulty, a group of 25 players is going to have an easier time than 10. Given the complexity of some areas of these raids, we advise you to scope out the area, mechanics and phases of these raids to give yourself the best chance of success.

Which expansion is the Firelands Raid in WoW part of?

This raid experience is part of the third phase in WoW Cataclysm Classic, so if you want to enjoy the adrenaline-inducing adventure, make sure you have access to all of the necessary content.

Diablo 4: Vessel Of Hatred - The Dawn Of A New Day Diablo 4: Vessel Of Hatred - The Dawn Of A New Day Game Updates

Welcome back to yet another exciting installment of the Chicks Gold blog series; in this article, we will be taking a look at the long-awaited Vessel of Hatred in Diablo 4. We’ll walk you through the new content, areas, gear, and more to ensure you’re ready to take on all aspects that the game has to offer. So, without further delay, let’s get into it!

What is Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred?

Vessel of Hatred is the new paid expansion for Diablo 4, bringing players new ways to play the game and new enemies to slay. Amongst the new content, you’ll find a new region, Spirirtborn class, dungeons, cellars, and strongholds. Plus, there are new gems and updates, as well as tons of other exciting content. Let's get started with the content and deep dive into the new region:

diablo 4 vessel of hatred, nahantu map

Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred - Nahantu Region

There’s a new land to traverse in this expansion, known by the locals as Nahantu and to those further afield Torajan. This new land is stated to be “very distinct” as opposed to the rest of the regions you’ve come to know and love. All thanks to the dark and menacing atmosphere and the blood soaked jungle that you’re about the enter.

Within this new region, you’ll find a new land called Kurast Bazaar, which is the capital city. This is set to be the main hub for the expansion, and unlike others in Diablo 4, this will have some unique points of interest. Here, you’ll find training grounds and a world-tier statue, which in previous instances have only been found in Kyovashad.

There will, of course, be some familiar aspects in this new region of Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred, such as dungeons, cellars, local events, strongholds, etc. While traversing the land, you’ll also encounter monsters, some new and some more familiar to you, but we’ll touch on that shortly.

Stories and Campaigns in Vessel of Hatred

The story of this expansion will continue where the Diablo 4 storyline left off. Focusing on Neyrelle’s journey across Sanctuary with the soul stone in her possession. Fortunately for new players, they won’t need to play through the entirety of the original story, and there will be somewhat of a recap of the story before you begin. Though, you will be required to complete the Vessel of Hatred campaign once in order to unlock the “Skip Campaign” feature for the subsequent characters.

d4 vessel of hatred, spiritborn

Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred - New Class

As always, when a new expansion comes to light, there are new aspects, such as classes, that come with it. In the case of Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred, it’s Spiritborn. This class will be similar to the Monk in Diablo 3 but will tie in with the jungle theme of the expansion. This class is known for its furtive agility and having a mystical bond with the nature surrounding the jungle. That's not to say it’s a peaceful class, though, as it comes with a heavy focus on weapon-based attacks and is classed as an apex predator of the Nahantu region.

The Spiritborn class centers around the four Spirit Guardians: the Centipede, Eagle, Gorilla, and Jaguar. Each of these focuses on a different aspect of the class. For instance, the Jaguar’s focus is on Attack Speed and fast-paced, High APM play. whereas the Gorilla turns toward the defensive aspect, combining Dodges, Bariers, and high health.

Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred - Dungeons

Players will be glad to know there will be more than one new Dungeoneering experience to take on with the latest expansion. The first we’ll touch on is the Dark Citadel, which will feature group mechanics, as well as some team-based challenges requiring at least two players for completion. So, let’s take a closer look:

The Dark Citadel

This area of the expansion sits at the bottom of a crater, with the Khazra channeling the crater’s power in an attempt to summon their dark lord. As they approach success, it will become the job of you and your fellow players to prevent the evil beings from rising. When taking on the challenge of preventing evil from seeping into Sanctuary, you must face some brutal encounters and more than challenging tasks. There will be some complex mechanics like boss abilities, which require player interaction with objects to reflect projectiles.

In addition to all this, this encounter in Vessel of Hatred Diablo 4 will introduce new currencies, which players can use to purchase themed cosmetics.

Dark Citadel Rewards

To keep things fresh once you’ve acquainted yourself with these new bosses and mechanics, Blizzard will be updating rewards weekly. The hopes are to entice more players into returning to the Citadel and regularly take on the challenge of preventing the unleash of evil.

In addition to the regular loot gained from these endeavors, you have a chance to obtain a new “Scroll of Retempering,” which resets the Tempering Durability on items in your possession. These are single-use items that you’ll be glad to know carry a slight chance of being received outside of the walls of the Citadel.

You can also hope to earn those aforementioned currencies, the Citadel Coin and Khazra Horn. The former is gained from killing Elites or Bosses and can be used to buy cosmetics, and the latter can be used at the Alchemist for new Transmutation.

vessel of hatred, party finder

Party Finder at the Citadel

While the Dark Citadel encounter can be completed by as little as two players, it’s recommended for four players to take on the challenge. This is where the new Diablo 4 Party Finder feature comes into play. The use of this finder will mean that you’re better matched with players who can help you take down the foes more easily. It also means you’ll no longer have to rely on outside sources to find suitable groups or wait around for your friends to take on these new challenges.

Kurast Undercity

Another introduction to this expansion is the Kurast Undercity, which is said to be an “intense new multistage, time-attack dungeon” that allows players control over the challenge, as well as the loot they can obtain. Tributes will be used to determine and adjust the difficulty and intensity of the Kurast Undercity, which will, in turn increase or decrease the potential loot rewards.

Take a look at the impressive new thirteen dungeons that will make up this new space:

  • Betrayed Tomb
  • Feeding Grounds
  • Forge of Malice
  • Hallowed Stones
  • Hierophant Pyre
  • Iron Cenotaph
  • Murmuring Spiral
  • Putrescent Larder
  • Razak’s Descent
  • Remnants of Rage
  • Seething Underpass
  • Ularian Sepulcher
  • Vile Hive

It’s worth noting before you begin this adventure that the Betrayed Tomb dungeon is locked until the completion of Festering Dark Stronghold.

diablo 4 vessel of hatred, new skills, paragon boards, and more

New Skills, Paragon Boards, and Much More

Class Changes

As well as the new Spiritborn class, there will be changes to the existing classes, bringing new skills, passives, glyphs, unique and legendary aspects, and temper manuals. Given the expansion is brand new, it’s not clear which changes have been made exactly, but we do know that there will be changes to the following classes:

In addition to this, the new patch 2.0 will see a new level cap in Vessel of Hatred, bringing players to 60. In addition, the Paragon levels will be separated from the standard leveling system, just like in Diablo 3. They will now be account-wide and have a level cap of 300, allowing for more diverse gameplay.

Gem Changes

There will be a new Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred tier list when it comes to gems. With the introduction of “Grand” tier gems. As well as this, some Gems have received updates to their effects; for instance, Rubies no longer grant % Maximum Life when socketed in armor. Below is the list of Grand gems available:

  • Grand Amethyst
  • Grand Diamond
  • Grand Emerald
  • Grand Ruby
  • Grand Sapphire
  • Grand Skull
  • Grand Topaz

diablo 4 vessel of hatred, new strongholds

Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred - New Strongholds

Within Vessel of Hatred in Diablo 4, there will be two new Strongholds: The Festering Dark and Chakhir. So, let’s take a closer look at what these entail:

The Festering Dark

This new challenge is sure to bring some confusion and frustration when you enter its doors, as in order to navigate the space, you’ll need to work through a strange mechanic. The Festering Dark is not just a title; it’s, in fact, pretty literal, and you’ll need to navigate it using a Reliquary Lantern to light your way. That's not all, though, as issuing attacks will mean you have to drop the lantern.

The light and dark elements at play will see players using Warding Braziers as checkpoints as they explore the rest of the area. Additionally, the use of the Reliquary Lantern changes your Skill Bar interface, meaning each button will cause you to drop the lantern. The path is also littered with walls and other obstacles to slow your progression, so it’s recommended that you try to traverse the whole path beforehand to gain a better footing.

The final Boss encounter here will use the darkness as an immunity effect that will require you to fight in small pools of light that the enemy creates during the encounter. The Festering will also unlock a new Waypoint once completed.

Chakhir

This Stronghold is a far more straightforward encounter and holds many similarities to other Strongholds introduced in Diablo 4. You will be required to investigate the ancient ruins, clear maggots, and slay Cauldron Keepers. This poison-themed encounter will see you taking on two Bosses titled Blaze and Bile, so it’s safe to say you’ll have plenty of challenges and adrenaline-inducing encounters on your journey.
