The Black Bird is a limited common pet in Grow a Garden. It was added in the Hungry Birds Event. It looks like a crow, with black feathers and black legs.
The Black Bird has a passive trait called Dark Chirp. This trait gives an age bonus to pets hatched from eggs. It can hatch a pet from an egg at up to age 15. The Ostrich can only reach age 10, so the Black Bird is a stronger pick. The trait can stack with other active Black Birds. Many players call it the best pet from the Bird Egg. It works about 1.3 times better than the Ostrich.
A smart way to use it is to equip the Black Bird right before opening an egg. That way it gives its bonus without taking up a pet slot all the time.
The Black Bird comes from the Bird Egg with a 44.9% chance, or from the Premium Bird Egg with a 43.9% chance. It has a hunger stat of 20,000. The rainbow version of the Black Bird counts as a legendary pet.
