Description
The Huge Mallard is a legendary pet in Grow a Garden. It joined the game on September 20th, 2025, during the second half of the Fall Market Event. This duck has a white body, a green head, and an orange beak. It also has a brown breast and brown wings, and it uses the same model as the Golden Goose.
The Mallard comes with a passive ability called Southbound. Every half hour, the Mallard flies south to migrate. It disappears for a moment and leaves behind a random gear item. Then it returns to your inventory. Rewards can include one to three Maple Syrup, one or three Bonfires, one Maple Sprinkler, one Harvest Basket, or one Golden Acorn.
The Mallard has a hunger stat of 15,000. It is one of only three pets in the game that uses its ability every half hour. The other two are the Zebra and the Show Pony. Shortly after release, its cooldown was changed from hourly to half-hourly, so it now gives gear twice as often. Players who want a steady stream of free gear items will get a lot of use from this pet.
