The Nihonzaru is a rare pet in Grow a Garden. It is based on the Japanese macaque, a real monkey also called the Snow Monkey. It came to the game on July 19, 2025 as part of the Zen Update.

This pet hatches from the Zen Egg with a 31% chance. That makes it the second most common pet from that egg. The Zen Egg holds six pets in total, and it takes 4 hours and 10 minutes to hatch. The egg is exclusive to the Zen Update, so the Nihonzaru is a limited pet.

The Nihonzaru has a special passive called Bathe Time. It works with the Hot Spring, a cosmetic item from the Zen Shop. When a Hot Spring is in the garden, the Nihonzaru bathes in it. While it bathes, it boosts the passives of all other pets by about 2.5%. This boost stacks, so more than one Nihonzaru gives a bigger combined boost. Each Nihonzaru needs its own Hot Spring to work best.
