The Ruby Squid is a Divine-tier pet in Grow a Garden. It is a glowing red squid that stands upright, with bright red spots and shiny particle effects. It was added to the game on November 15, 2025, and it is the first squid pet in the game.

The Ruby Squid hatches from the Gem Egg at a rate of about 0.5%, which ties it with the Diamond Panther for the lowest hatch chance from that egg. It has a hunger stat of 60,000.

Its passive ability is Ruby Ink. This ability copies the passive ability of one random pet in the garden. It only copies true passives, not abilities with cooldowns. The copied ability scales with the Ruby Squid's own weight and stats, not the stats of the pet it copies. A heavy Ruby Squid can make a small pet's passive much stronger.

Players use Ruby Squids to double up on strong passives from pets like the Koi, Seal, or Capybara. Multiple Ruby Squids can copy the same pet at once, which saves garden space. Its rare drop rate and useful ability give it a very high trade value.
