The Tanuki is a legendary pet in Grow a Garden, a Roblox game. It hatches from the Zen Egg with a 20.82% chance. The Tanuki and the Zen Egg came out on July 19, 2025, as part of the Zen update. The pet has a brown body with spots in different brown tints, and it wears a smile. It looks a lot like a raccoon.

The Tanuki has the Mischief trait. Every 10 minutes or so, it does one of six random actions in your garden. It can give a random fruit the Chilled, Choc, or Moonlit mutation. It can give itself experience. It can move a random pet's cooldown forward by 60 seconds. It can also give you 300 to 1,000 Sheckles. This mix of rewards makes the Tanuki a helpful pet for growing better crops and earning more over time.

In the game, Zen Eggs cost 30 Chi from the Zen Shop or 149 Robux. Players can also give the Zen Channeller Tranquil fruit for a chance at a Zen Egg. The Tanuki has a hunger stat of 15,000. Its name comes from the Japanese word for raccoon dog.
