Banana stew is a members food item in Old School RuneScape. It is a bowl full of mushy banana. When you eat it, it heals 11 hitpoints. It is a simple and cheap way to keep your health up.
Banana stew is a great snack when you train Agility on Ape Atoll. The Ape Atoll Agility Course can hurt you, and this food helps you stay alive. Solihib's Food Stall sells it for 300 coins, and the stall sits close to the course. You cannot make banana stew with the Cooking skill, so buying it is the only way to get it.
The stew is tradeable and noteable, but it does not stack. It weighs 0.25 kg, which is less than a normal bowl. That means your weight actually goes up a little after you eat one. It can also be traded on the Grand Exchange, with a buy limit of 6,000 every 4 hours.
Banana stew came out on 6 December 2004 and got a new look in 2006. It is not a quest item and cannot be worn. Grab some banana stew and train on Ape Atoll without fear.
