The basilisk jaw is a rare drop in Old School RuneScape. It comes from Basilisk Knights, which are level 204 monsters. The drop rate is 1 in 5,000, or 1 in 1,000 if you are on a Slayer task for basilisks. Basilisk Sentinels, which are level 358, also drop the jaw at a rate of 1 in 1,000.

The jaw has one big use. You can combine it with the helm of Neitiznot to make the Neitiznot faceguard. The faceguard is untradeable. To make it, you must finish The Fremennik Exiles quest. Then you ask Olaf the Bard for stories about basilisk jaws while the jaw is in your inventory. You also need to finish The Fremennik Exiles to wear the helmet.

This item is members-only. It is tradeable and can be turned into a bank note. It weighs 0.005 kg. It is tied to the Fremennik league region. Getting a basilisk jaw as a drop can take a very long time, so buying one is a fast way to upgrade your helm and get one of the best melee helmets in the game.
