Description

The bird snare is a trap used to train the Hunter skill in Old School RuneScape. Players set the snare on the ground in areas where birds live. When a bird walks into the trap, it gets caught. Players can then check the trap to collect Hunter experience along with feathers and bones. If the trap snaps without catching a bird, it must be set again. A trap will not catch birds if the player stands right on top of it. Smoking a trap raises the catch rate by 2%.

Bird snares can catch many birds. Crimson swifts need level 1 Hunter and give 34 experience. Golden warblers need level 5. Copper longtails need level 9. Cerulean twitches need level 11. Tropical wagtails need level 19 and give 95 experience.

Players can use more than one snare at a time. Higher Hunter levels allow more traps. Level 1 allows one trap, level 20 allows two, level 40 allows three, level 60 allows four, and level 80 allows five. This makes the bird snare a simple and useful tool for players who want to train Hunter from low levels.
