Black boots are a piece of armour for the footwear slot in Old School RuneScape. You need level 10 Defence to wear them. They are a solid early choice for players who want to protect their feet without high skill levels.
These boots give good defence for a low-level item. They add +7 Stab defence, +8 Slash defence, and +9 Crush defence. They have small penalties too, with -3 Magic attack and -1 Ranged attack. They weigh 1.36 kg.
Black boots drop from Bloodvelds at levels 76 and 81, and from the Mutated Bloodveld at level 123. The drop rate is 1 in 128. The superior versions, the Insatiable Bloodveld and the Insatiable mutated Bloodveld, drop them at a better rate of 3 in 128. Each drop is one pair of boots. Players can also trade for them.
Like all black items and metal boots, these cannot be made with the Smithing skill. That makes drops and trading the only ways to get them. Black boots are traded on the Grand Exchange with a buy limit of 125 every 4 hours. The item ID is 4125, and it was released on 26 January 2005.
