Description

The Black cape is a classic cape in Old School RuneScape. It is a free-to-play item that any player can wear. When examined in game, it is described as "A warm black cape." It weighs 0.453 kg and can be traded or noted.

This cape gives small defence bonuses. It adds +1 stab defence, +1 slash defence, and +2 magic defence. Many free-to-play players wear it while training Magic, Melee, or Ranged because it fills the cape slot at a low cost.

The Black cape has more uses than just combat. It is needed for an Easy Treasure Trail clue. The clue asks the player to wear the cape and do the Wave emote at Mudskipper Point, south-west of the fairy ring. Players can also dye it with blue, green, orange, pink, purple, red, or yellow dye to make a cape of that colour. This needs level 1 Crafting and gives 2.5 XP.

In game, the cape drops from level 5 highwaymen and can be bought in shops in Canifis and Shayzien. Buying one here is a fast way to get this simple and useful cape.
