Description
The Black chainbody is a piece of body armour in Old School RuneScape. It is made of connected metal rings. It is stronger than the steel chainbody and needs 10 Defence to wear. It has the same bonuses as a white chainbody, but it does not give a prayer bonus. Like all black equipment, it cannot be made with the Smithing skill.
This chainbody gives +22 stab defence, +32 slash defence, +39 crush defence, and +24 ranged defence. It lowers magic attack by 15 and magic defence by 3. It is a good pick for free-to-play melee training.
Players can buy it at Wayne's Chains chainmail shop in southern Falador or at Saro's armour shop in Keldagrim. It also drops from monsters like Vampyre Juvinates, Zombies in Tarn's Lair, Gangsters, and Gang bosses. It can come from beginner reward caskets and Black Chests too.
The item is tradeable, equipable, and noteable, but not stackable. It weighs 6.803 kg. It was released on 8 December 2001 and got graphical updates in November 2004 and April 2006.
