Description

Black platelegs are leg armour in Old School RuneScape. You need level 10 Defence to wear them. They are a solid choice for low level melee training and early quests.

These platelegs give good defence for their level. They have +21 stab, +20 slash, +19 crush, and +20 ranged defence. They lower magic attack by 21 and ranged attack by 11, so they work best for melee fighters. They have the same bonuses as the black plateskirt but weigh more, at 9.071 kg.

Black armour cannot be made with the Smithing skill, which makes these legs a handy pickup. In the game, they are sold at Louie's Armoured Legs Bazaar in Al Kharid and Valaine's Shop of Champions in the Champions' Guild. They are also needed in King's Ransom and in Heroes' Quest for players in the Black Arm Gang.

Trimmed and gold trimmed versions exist as rewards from easy Treasure Trails. Those look nicer but give no extra combat bonuses. Black platelegs are tradeable, equipable, and noteable, so they are easy to move around. They first came to the game on 28 February 2001.
