Description

Blood runes are runes used to cast Magic spells in Old School RuneScape. They are members-only, tradeable, and stackable, so a large stack takes up just one inventory slot. They weigh nothing.

Blood runes power some of the highest level spells in the game. The lowest is Ruby Crossbow Bolt Enchant. They are needed for all Wave spells, God spells, and the Ancient Barrage and Blitz spells that many players use in combat. They also appear in Lunar healing spells and high level Arceuus reanimation spells. Spells that use blood runes range from level 49 to level 95 across the Standard, Ancient, Lunar, and Arceuus spellbooks.

Blood runes do more than cast spells. They are used to charge the Scythe of Vitur, the Sanguinesti staff, the Ring of shadows, and the soul bearer. Binding a blood rune at a blood altar is also needed for a master clue scroll skill challenge from Sherlock.

Making blood runes yourself takes level 77 Runecraft, so buying a stack saves time and effort. A supply of blood runes keeps mages ready for bossing, player versus player fights, and Slayer tasks.
