Description

Cosmic runes are a key rune in Old School RuneScape. Players use them mainly for enchanting spells. These spells turn plain jewellery, like rings and amulets, into items with special effects. For example, casting Lvl-4 Enchant on a diamond ring turns it into a ring of life.

Cosmic runes have more uses too. They power Lunar spells such as NPC Contact, Cure Me, Cure Group, and Spellbook Swap. They are also needed for resurrection spells in the Arceuus spellbook.

Making these runes yourself takes work. You need level 27 Runecraft and the Lost City quest to craft them at the Cosmic Altar in Zanaris. At level 59, you get two runes per pure essence. You can also buy them from a few shops, like Lundail's shop in the Wilderness, but some shops need long quests to unlock first. There is a small rune spawn in the Wilderness, but player killers and ice monsters make it a risky spot.

Buying cosmic runes saves time and keeps you safe. With a good stock, you can enchant jewellery and cast your spells without stopping to craft or shop.
