Cotton seeds are a farming item in Old School RuneScape. You can plant them in a hops patch once you reach level 71 Farming. Each patch needs three seeds. When the plant is fully grown, you can harvest cotton bolls from it.

Planting cotton seeds gives 72 Farming experience. Each cotton boll you pick gives 82 more experience. The plant takes 100 minutes to grow. You can expect to harvest three or more bolls, but the amount can vary. The plant does not regrow after harvest.

A nearby gardener will watch your growing cotton plants if you pay 6 hemp. Using compost lowers the chance of disease and boosts your yield. Your Farming level also matters. At level 71, you have about a 49% chance to pick a boll without using up a harvest life. This rises to about 56% at level 99. Magic secateurs and an attas plant in your anima patch can raise these odds even more.

Cotton seeds are stackable and tradeable, so they are easy to store and move. On the Grand Exchange, the buy limit is 2,000 seeds per 4 hours. This is a solid pick for players training Farming at high levels.
