Description

The Death rune is a rune used to cast Magic spells in Old School RuneScape. It powers medium-level missile spells called blast spells. These include Wind Blast, Water Blast, Earth Blast, Fire Blast, and Iban Blast. Players use these spells to train Magic and deal solid damage in combat.

Death runes are stackable and tradeable, so a large pile takes up only one inventory slot. They weigh nothing. This makes them easy to carry on long training trips or boss fights.

In the game, players can craft death runes at the Death Altar with 65 Runecraft after finishing Mourning's End Part II. Monsters like ankous, nechryael, and dark beasts often drop them. They can also show up in the Barrows Chest. Players can even trade a cat to civilians in West Ardougne for 100 death runes, or 200 with the easy Ardougne diary done.

Gathering death runes by hand takes time. Buying a stack lets players skip the grind and get right to casting. Death runes are a smart pick for anyone training Magic or fighting with blast spells.
