Description

The heavy ballista is a two-handed crossbow in Old School RuneScape. It fires javelins and hits hard with each shot. Lore says it was forged from the wreckage of an airship.

To wield it, you need level 75 Ranged and the quest Monkey Madness II. You must also finish Duke and Daero's training. The training gives at least 20,000 Defence experience, which works out to level 33 Defence.

The ballista gives +125 Ranged attack and +15 Ranged strength. With javelins, the max ranged strength reaches +165. It shoots every 7 ticks on accurate and 6 ticks on rapid. Its attack range is 9 tiles, or 10 on longrange. It is a slow weapon, but each shot can deal big damage.

Its special attack is Concentrated Shot. It boosts accuracy and damage by 25% and uses 65% of your special attack energy. Ava's device picks up your fired javelins, so you lose less ammo.

You can add a heavy ballista ornament kit to make the heavy ballista (or). Making one from parts needs 72 Fletching and gives 660 experience. Note that it cannot be used with a mith grapple for agility shortcuts.
