Description

The Irit seed is a herb seed in Old School RuneScape. Plant it in a herb patch at level 44 Farming to grow grimy irit leaves. After you clean the leaves, you can use them in Herblore to make potions.

Each patch takes one seed. The plant takes 80 minutes to grow, split into four stages of 20 minutes each. You get 43 Farming XP for planting and 48.5 XP for each herb you pick. A patch gives at least 3 herbs, and the amount can vary.

Compost helps you get more herbs. Irit starts with 3 harvest lives, and each tier of compost adds one more. With ultracompost, you get up to 6 lives. A higher Farming level also gives you a better chance to save a harvest life while picking.

Note that gardeners will not watch herb patches, and a grown white lily will not protect them from disease. Irit seeds are stackable and tradeable, and they weigh nothing. They drop from monsters, come from seed packs, and can be taken from master farmers. This seed is a solid pick for players training Farming and stocking up herbs for Herblore.
