Description

The Javelin shaft is a members-only Fletching item in Old School RuneScape (OSRS). It is the base part used to make javelins. Attach a javelin tip to a shaft and you get a javelin. Unlike arrows, javelins do not need feathers, so shafts and tips are all you need.

Javelin shafts work with every tip type in the game. You can add bronze tips at level 3 Fletching, iron at 17, steel at 32, mithril at 47, adamant at 62, rune at 77, amethyst at 84, and dragon at 92. Making dragon javelins gives 225 Fletching experience per set of 15, which makes shafts useful for training at high levels.

Players can also make shafts by using a knife on logs at level 3 Fletching. One log gives 15 shafts and 5 Fletching experience. In the game, shafts drop from Tortured gorillas in stacks of 100 to 300 and from Demonic gorillas in stacks of 750 to 1,250.

Javelin shafts are tradeable and stackable, and they weigh nothing. Their item ID is 19584. A stack of shafts saves time for anyone who wants to fletch javelins without cutting logs first.
