Description
The mith grapple tip is a members-only item in Old School RuneScape. It is the first part of a mithril grapple. Players smith the tip from one mithril bar at level 59 Smithing. Each tip gives 50 Smithing experience.
To make a full grapple, attach the tip to a mithril bolt at level 59 Fletching for 11 Fletching experience. Then use a rope on the unfinished grapple. The finished grapple goes in the ammo slot and works with a crossbow.
Mithril grapples let players cross Agility shortcuts, like scaling walls or crossing strong trees and rocks. These shortcuts need Agility, Strength, and Ranged levels. Some achievement diary tasks also need these grapple shortcuts. A grapple is required to enter the Armadyl area of the God Wars Dungeon, which needs 70 Ranged.
Grapples can break when used, but this is rare. They never break in the Hallowed Sepulchre or on the Shayzien Agility Course. The tip is tradeable, so players can skip the smithing step and start fletching right away. It weighs almost nothing at 0.001 kg, so it is easy to carry.
