Description
The Mithril chainbody is a body armour piece in Old School RuneScape. It is made of mithril and looks like a series of connected metal rings. You need level 20 Defence to wear it.
Like all chainbodies, it gives better Crush defence than a mithril platebody. The trade is lower Stab and Slash defence. Its defence bonuses are +25 Stab, +35 Slash, +42 Crush, -3 Magic, and +27 Ranged. It has a -15 Magic attack bonus, so it is not a good pick for spellcasting. This armour is a solid choice for mid-level melee training, and it works well against monsters that use Crush attacks.
Players can also make this chainbody with level 61 Smithing. It takes 3 mithril bars at an anvil and gives 150 Smithing experience. In the game, it drops from monsters like Lesser demons, Pyrefiends, Bloodvelds, Kalphite Soldiers, and Werewolves. It is also sold in armour shops in Falador, Varrock, and Jatizso.
The Mithril chainbody is tradeable and can be noted. It is also used for a Medium Treasure Trail clue at the Observatory STASH spot, where you perform the Think and Spin emotes.
