Description

Mort myre fungus is a members-only item from Old School RuneScape. It is a mushroom that grows in Mort Myre Swamp. Players want it for two main reasons. It is a key ingredient in Herblore, and it can charge a Druid pouch.

With level 52 Herblore, players mix one Mort myre fungus with an Avantoe potion (unf) to make a super energy potion. Each potion made gives 117.5 Herblore experience. This makes the fungus a popular item for training the skill.

The fungus can also be used to add one charge to a Druid pouch. A charged pouch makes Ghasts in the swamp visible so players can attack them.

Getting the fungus by hand takes work. Players must cast Bloom near rotting logs with a blessed silver sickle or a similar tool. Each cast drains 1 to 6 Prayer points at random. The Nature Spirit quest is needed to get the sickle. Some monsters also drop the fungus, such as Mutated Zygomites and Ancient Zygomites.

Mort myre fungus may also be needed for the Fairytale I - Growing Pains quest. Buying a stack saves time, Prayer points, and long trips to the swamp.
