The Obsidian cape is a piece of Obsidian armour in Old School RuneScape. It is a cape made of woven obsidian plates. It has no requirements to wear, so any player can put it on right away.
The cape gives a +9 defence bonus to all styles. That means stab, slash, crush, magic, and ranged. This makes it a popular pick for players who do not have a fire cape or a Cape of Accomplishment. It is also one of the few capes that counts as warm clothing at the Wintertodt.
In the game, the cape drops from TzHaar creatures in Mor Ul Rek. This includes TzHaar-Xil, TzHaar-Ket, and TzHaar-Mej. It can also be bought in-game from TzHaar-Hur-Tel's Equipment Store and TzHaar-Hur-Zal's Equipment Store in Mor Ul Rek.
A reversed colour version exists as a master clue scroll reward from Treasure Trails. It has the same stats but is red with black trim instead of black with red trim.
The cape weighs 1.814 kg and can be stored in the cape rack of a costume room. It was released on 4 October 2005 and has item ID 6568.
