Description
Pyre logs are members-only items in Old School RuneScape. Players use them in the Shades of Mort'ton minigame to cremate the remains of Loar and Phrin shades. You need level 5 Firemaking to light them. Each cremation gives 50 Firemaking experience and 25 Prayer experience. With the Morytania Diary 4 complete, the Firemaking reward rises to 75 experience.
Pyre logs are made by using sacred oil on normal logs. Making them yourself takes time, since sacred oil comes from restoring the temple north of Mort'ton. Buying pyre logs skips that work and lets you start cremating right away.
To use them, place pyre logs and a set of shade remains on a funeral pyre south-west of Mort'ton. Light the pyre with a tinderbox. This frees the shade and rewards you with coins or a key. The type of key depends on the remains you burn, not the logs you use.
Pyre logs are tradeable and noteable, so they are easy to carry and stock up on. They are a solid pick for players training Firemaking and Prayer at the same time in Mort'ton.
