Description
The Ranarr seed is a farming seed in Old School RuneScape. You plant it in a herb patch at level 32 Farming. It grows into grimy ranarr weed in 80 minutes. Once cleaned, ranarr weed is used in Herblore to make potions, including prayer potions.
Each seed gives at least 3 herbs per harvest, and the yield can go higher. Using ultracompost or the enhanced Fertile Soil spell lowers disease chance and raises the average yield. Magic secateurs and the Farming cape also boost your harvest. Planting anima seeds like iasor and attas helps too.
Some herb patches never get diseased. These are found at the Troll Stronghold, Hosidius, Weiss, Outer Fortis, and Harmony Island, once you meet the unlock requirements for each one.
Planting a ranarr seed gives 26.5 Farming XP, and each herb you harvest gives 30.5 XP. Herb running with ranarr seeds is a well known way to make money and train Farming at the same time. Ranarr seeds are a smart pick for any player who wants steady Farming XP and herbs for high value potions.
