Description
The Redwood sapling is a Farming item in Old School RuneScape. It is used to grow a redwood tree, which needs level 90 Farming to plant. The sapling is planted in the redwood tree patch at the Farming Guild with a spade. Planting gives 230 Farming experience, and checking the fully grown tree gives 22,450 experience.
The tree takes 6,400 minutes to grow, which is about four and a half days. Players can pay the gardener six dragonfruits to protect the tree from disease while it grows. Once grown, the tree needs level 90 Woodcutting to chop, and it regrows after being cut.
A player-grown redwood is a strong option for AFK Woodcutting training. There is no competition from other players, and the bank deposit box in the Farming Guild is close by, so banking logs takes only about 7 seconds. With tick manipulation, the tree can give up to 180,000 Woodcutting experience per hour. The patch cannot be cleared by the player. Alexandra must be paid 2,000 coins to clear it.
