Description
The Ring of Coins is a fun cosmetic item in Old School RuneScape. It comes as a possible reward from master Treasure Trails. When you use it, your character turns into a pile of coins on the ground.
The trick works best when you stand still. If you move, the effect ends and you turn back to normal. Other players who right click on you will see normal options like "Walk here" and "Follow". This makes the ring a favorite tool for pranks in busy spots like the Grand Exchange, where a fake pile of coins can fool a lot of people.
The ring has no combat stat bonuses, so it is purely for fun. It is also very light at just 0.004 kg. You can store it in the treasure chest of a costume room in your player-owned house. Note that transformation rings like this one can no longer be used to avoid boss freezes, such as the web attack from Sarachnis or the snare from Hespori. The ring has been available to free-to-play players since 24 November 2016.
