Description
The Rune dart is a fast throwing weapon in Old School RuneScape. You need level 40 Ranged to use it. Each dart has a Ranged Strength bonus of +26. Darts are one handed, so you can hold a shield or god book in your other hand for extra protection.
Rune darts shine because of their speed. The Rapid combat style attacks every 1.2 seconds. You can also pick Accurate for a +3 Ranged boost or Longrange for more distance and a +3 Defence boost. The darts can be poisoned to deal even more damage.
Making these darts yourself takes a lot of work. You need level 89 Smithing to make the tips, level 81 Fletching to add feathers, and the Tourist Trap quest done. Buying them saves all that effort.
Rune darts also help with other goals. Smithing and fletching 10 of them in Varrock is part of the Elite Varrock Diary. Fletching one is also a skill challenge from Sherlock on a master clue scroll.
Each dart weighs nothing, so you can carry a big stack without slowing down. They are a solid choice for training Ranged or fighting in quick battles.
