Description

The tecu salamander is the strongest salamander weapon in Old School RuneScape. It is a live creature caught with the Hunter skill at level 79 near Ralos' Rise in Varlamore. Fully grown ones are rare to catch, since most caught salamanders are immature.

You need level 80 Attack, Magic, and Ranged to wield it. It uses irit tar as ammo. The weapon has three attack styles. Scorch is a slash attack with a plus 3 Strength boost. Flare is a ranged attack with a faster speed of 4 ticks. Blaze is a magic attack with a plus 3 Defence boost. Each style uses its own attack bonus.

The stats are strong. It has plus 77 slash, plus 87 ranged, and plus 91 strength. The strength bonus is close to a leaf-bladed battleaxe. In magic mode, the damage bonus is 104.

You must be in melee range to attack, but you can hit enemies from behind fences and on diagonal squares. That makes safespotting possible. It is also the best salamander for two Combat Achievements: The Worst Ranged Weapon and More than just a ranged weapon.
