Description

Algarum thread is a members-only material in RuneScape 3. It comes from the ocean, where it is woven into a strong thread and brought to the surface by traders. The item is stackable and tradeable, and it can be stored in the focus storage.

Players want algarum thread because it is needed to make sirenic armour. It is combined with sirenic scales to craft each piece. A sirenic mask needs 1 thread, 14 scales, and level 91 Crafting, and it gives 500 experience. Sirenic chaps need 2 threads, 28 scales, and level 92 Crafting, for 1,000 experience. A sirenic hauberk needs 3 threads, 42 scales, and level 93 Crafting, for 1,500 experience.

Algarum thread is also used to make elite sirenic armour and elite dracolich armour. It is needed for greater ensouled thread, which is used on tier 80 and 90 deathwarden and deathdealer robe armour.

In the game, the thread can be bought from Ocellus Virius near the Ascension dungeon, from the Bandit general store in the Wilderness, or on the Grand Exchange. Ocellus will not open his shop unless the player has at least 500,000 coins.
