Description
The Ancient scale is a raw material in RuneScape 3. Players use these scales to upgrade sirenic armour into elite sirenic armour. They also turn dracolich armour into elite dracolich armour. Scales are the main part needed to make elite sirenic repair patches, which fix elite sirenic armour when it wears down.
Upgrading a full set of elite sirenic armour takes 840 ancient scales and level 91 to 93 Crafting. A full set of elite dracolich armour takes 980 scales at the same Crafting levels. You can apply scales right onto augmented armour pieces, so you do not have to remove your gizmos first.
In the game, ancient scales drop mainly from Seiryu the Azure Serpent in the Temple of Aminishi. They also come from the elite chest dropped by The Ambassador, from the Rex Matriarchs, and as rare drops from monsters in the Elite Dungeons when you carry the right lucky charms.
Ancient scales are members-only items. They are tradeable, stackable, and can be disassembled. They weigh nothing, so they are easy to carry in bulk. Buying scales saves hours of boss fights and gets your armour upgraded faster.
