The astronomy book is a lore item in RuneScape 3. It is also called The Tale of Scorpius. Players get it during the Observatory Quest. The book tells the story of Scorpius, the scholar who started modern astronomy in Gielinor.
The book explains how Scorpius lived at the start of the Fourth Age. He built a magic device that let him see far into the sky. He used it to map and name the stars. Those names are still used today. The book also covers his turn to Zamorakian knowledge, his banishment, and the grave built for him near the Observatory. Some say his ghost still wanders there.
After the quest, players can get a new copy from any bookcase in their player-owned house. A copy also spawns on a table in the house north of the Observatory. The book cannot go in a bookcase until the quest is done.
The astronomy book is tradeable and noteable. It can be disassembled. It weighs 0.003 kg and has item ID 600. It is a good pick for lore fans and players who want to fill out their collections.
