Description
The black bead is a small round bead in RuneScape 3. It is a drop from imps. Imps at combat level 5, Imp heralds at level 98, and imps in the God Wars Dungeon can all drop it.
This bead has two main uses. Players can add it to an unfinished tarromin potion to make a magic potion. It is also useful as optional bait when box catching imps. Black beads are the default type of bead for magic potions, so the game uses them first if a player has more than one kind.
The black bead is tradeable and noteable. It is very light at 0.003 kg, but it does not stack and cannot be worn. Players who train Invention can disassemble it for a small amount of Disassembly XP. It gives Simple parts most of the time and Variable components on rare occasions.
Long-time players may remember this bead from the Imp Catcher quest. After the quest rework on 27 March 2017, the melancholic bead took its place. Today the black bead is still a handy item for Herblore and imp catching.
