This shield gives 70.8 armour and a 2.5% PvM damage reduction. Its bonuses are close to those of the white square shield. That makes it a solid pick for low level players who want extra defence in fights.
Like all black gear, this shield cannot be made with the Smithing skill. In the game, moss giants drop it at a fairly high rate. Members can also get it from an easy Treasure Trail. It first came to the game on 8 December 2001.
The shield can be disassembled for Invention. It always gives one Knightly component. It can also give Cover parts, Base parts, Deflecting parts, Strong components, and Protective components.
