Description

Calcified fungus is a crafting material in RuneScape 3. It comes from the Croesus Front in Senntisten. Players mine it from Moulding Lumbridge guards and Moulding Varrock guards in the north-east part of the front. Mining it needs level 88 Mining. Sometimes a guard becomes enriched and gives enriched calcified fungus instead.

This fungus is useful for many recipes. With level 51 Herblore, you can mix it with an unfinished Avantoe potion to make a Mining potion. It is also an ingredient in mushy mush and variety mush, made at a Trough with level 17. At level 85, it can be used for a seed bag.

Calcified fungus also goes into bigger projects. The Croesus spore sack needs 500 of them, along with other fungal materials and Croesus flakes. Tagga's corehammer, also called the Croesus sporehammer, needs 5 calcified fungus, 5 fungal algae, bane bars, and Croesus flakes at an Anvil with level 80.

You can also make calcified fungus soup. Eating it helps your mining but lowers your hunting speed while fighting Croesus. This makes the fungus a handy item for anyone who fights Croesus or trains skills.
