Description
The Challenge gem is a deployable item in RuneScape 3. It lets you start your own skilling or combat competition with other players. Up to 50 players can join one competition, and each player gets a challenge shard to track their score.
When you deploy a gem, you set the rules. A competition can run from 5 to 30 minutes. You can set an entrance fee from 0 to 1,000,000 coins, and you can add a 4-pin code so only your friends can enter. Skilling competitions score points from base experience in one chosen skill. Combat competitions score points from the damage you deal, and they can be set to PVP only or wilderness only.
During a competition, the top three players have their rank shown above their heads. When time runs out, the prize pool is split between the players tied for first place, and each of them earns a win.
Challenge gems are also a way to earn titles. Winning 10, 25, or 100 challenges gives the Victor, MVP, and Real MVP titles. Taking part in 10 challenges gives the Contender title.
