The Chaos Roar ability codex is an item in RuneScape 3 that unlocks the Chaos Roar ability when you read it. You need level 92 Attack to use the ability. The codex comes as a reward from Zamorak, Lord of Chaos, in both Normal mode and Hard mode.

Chaos Roar is a basic melee ability that hits one target for 100% to 120% ability damage. Its real power is the buff it gives. Your next melee ability within 7.2 seconds deals 1.75 times its base damage. In PvP the boost is 1.25 times. The ability also gives 9% adrenaline and 1 Bloodlust stack. It has a 60 second cooldown.

The damage boost works on bleed abilities, which normally cannot be boosted. It also boosts every hit of multi-hit abilities like Hurricane, area of effect abilities, and weapon special attacks from the Dragon dagger, Dragon claw, Dark Shard of Leng, and Ek-ZekKil. This makes Chaos Roar a strong pick for melee players who want bigger hits in boss fights.

The codex is tradeable and noteable. It can be disassembled, and it is always kept on death outside dangerous areas.
