Description

Chitin scraps are an item in RuneScape 3. They come from broken-down kalphite chitin. Players use them to repair drygore weapons, which are strong melee weapons.

It takes 100 scraps to repair 1% of a main-hand drygore weapon. A full repair from 0% needs 10,000 scraps. Off-hand weapons cost less. It takes 50 scraps to repair 1% of an off-hand weapon, so a full repair needs 5,000 scraps.

Scraps are made by using a damaged chitin on an anvil. This needs level 60 Smithing and gives 10 Smithing experience per chitin. Each damaged chitin gives 21 to 46 scraps based on your Smithing level. Damaged chitin drops from all exiled kalphites except exiled kalphite workers.

Using chitin scraps is cheaper than paying coins to repair drygore weapons at an armour stand or with Bob in Lumbridge. This makes scraps a smart pick for players who use drygore weapons often.

Chitin scraps are members only. They are tradeable, they stack in your bank and inventory, and they weigh nothing. This makes them easy to store and carry in large amounts.
