Description

Compost is a Farming item in RuneScape 3. You use it on an empty, weeded farming patch before or after planting a seed or sapling. It lowers the chance of your crops getting diseased while they grow. For allotment, herb, hops, and nightshade patches, compost also adds one extra harvest life, so you get more crops from each patch.

Applying compost only needs Farming level 1, and each use gives 18 Farming XP. It works on all farming patches except the evil turnip patch. You can also use it before adding supercompost or ultracompost to a patch, which gives you the XP from both.

Compost has other uses too. It is the tertiary ingredient for infusing a compost mound pouch, and it is an ingredient in mud pies. A tool leprechaun can store up to 255 compost for you, so it does not take up bank space.

The item is tradeable, noteable, and stackable, and it weighs 3 kg. It can also be disassembled for organic parts, with smaller chances of crafted parts, enhancing components, healthy components, and living components. Compost is a simple way to protect crops and boost yields at any Farming level.
