Description

Goldrune is an Archaeology material in RuneScape 3. It is a members-only item that came out on 30 March 2020. Its name comes from being an alloy of gold and rune, much like Silvthril mixes silver and mithril.

Players use goldrune to restore damaged artefacts at an Archaeologist's workbench. It is needed for a large number of artefacts, from level 20 all the way up to level 120 Archaeology. That makes it a material players need again and again as they train the skill.

Goldrune normally comes from digging. It needs level 20 Archaeology and can be found at material caches and excavation sites, such as the Camdozaal cavern below Ice Mountain. Digging it up takes time, and higher levels and better mattocks only speed it up a little. Buying goldrune skips that grind so players can restore artefacts right away.

The item is tradeable and noteable, and it can be stored in the material storage container. It can also be disassembled for Simple parts and Crafted parts, with a chance of Historic or Classic components. It cannot be equipped and does not stack, and each piece weighs 0.453 kg.
