You can place the hammer in the tool belt. That means it does not take up space in your inventory during normal use. The hammer is tradeable and noteable. It does not stack, and it cannot be equipped. It weighs 0.907 kg.
The hammer is also one of the base items needed to make a hammer-tron, which is the augmented version of the hammer. It can be disassembled too. Disassembly gives Simple parts most of the time, with a small chance of Variable components.
Every smith and builder in RS3 needs a hammer. It is a simple tool, but it opens the door to training, building, and finishing quests.
