Description

The Key to the Crossing is a members-only item in RuneScape 3. It unlocks the First Gate, the crossing between Gielinor and the Underworld. Players use this key to enter the Magister boss fight. One key is used up for each fight.

The key drops from monsters in the Sophanem Slayer Dungeon, the Sanctum of Rebirth, and Amascut, the Devourer. Drop sources include corrupted creatures like dust devils, scarabs, and workers, plus many akh monsters. The base drop chance is 1 in 400. On a Slayer task, the chance jumps to 1 in 75. The Magister himself can drop a key back at a rate of 1 in 128. A Sophanem slayer dungeon drop enhancer makes all these rates better. Oreb in The Shadow Reef always drops a key, but he does not appear every time.

The key is tradeable and noteable, and it weighs 0.45 kg. It cannot be worn, stacked, or disassembled. When rolled as a drop, the key lands on the ground instead of going into a chest, so players need to watch for it.
