Description
Meteorite dust is a members-only item in RuneScape 3. It is a robust metallic powder made from space rock. Players make it by using a pestle and mortar on a meteorite chunk. This needs level 85 Crafting and gives 80 Crafting experience. Each chunk turns into 10 dust in a single tick.
The main use for meteorite dust is Smithing. With level 85 Smithing, players can take the dust to a furnace and make meteorite cannonballs. Using 16 dust and 16 cannonballs makes 16 meteorite cannonballs and gives 76.8 Smithing experience.
Meteorite chunks come from meteorite rocks found on Zolarea. Mining them needs level 85 Mining, so making the dust from scratch takes time and high skill levels. Buying the dust skips the mining and crushing steps.
Meteorite dust is tradeable and stackable, and it weighs nothing, so it takes up only one inventory slot no matter how much a player holds. It has a buy limit of 10,000 and cannot be turned into coins with High or Low Alchemy. The item was added to the game on 6 October 2025.
