The prickly pear seed is a Farming seed in RuneScape 3. Players plant it in a cactus patch. It takes level 76 Farming to grow. Planting one seed gives 170 Farming experience.
This seed is special. When the plant is done growing, harvesting it gives Defence experience instead of a crop item. The amount of Defence experience depends on the player's Defence level and Farming level at harvest time. Checking the plant's health gives 2,250 Farming experience, and harvesting gives 50 more.
The plant takes 9 hours and 20 minutes to grow. It grows in 7 stages of 1 hour and 20 minutes each. A farmer will protect the growing plant for 15 jangerberries. Players who have finished the hard Desert achievements do not need to pay for the Al Kharid patch.
The seed is stackable and tradeable. It can be disassembled for Organic parts most of the time, with a small chance of Living components. Players who want easy Defence experience while training Farming will find this seed a smart pick. It fits well into any daily farm run that includes a cactus patch.
