The red topaz machete is the best machete in RuneScape 3. It is a members-only item. Its main job is cutting through thick jungle plants. Normal hatchets cannot cut this undergrowth, so this tool is a big help for jungle exploration and the Tai Bwo Wannai Cleanup minigame.
You can also add the red topaz machete to your tool belt. This keeps it handy and saves space in your backpack. Making one with Safta Doc in Tai Bwo Wannai village counts toward the "That's Not a Knife..." achievement, which is part of the medium Karamja achievements.
The machete works as a melee weapon too. It uses the slash style and has tier 10 stats, with 48 ability damage and 202 accuracy. There are no requirements to wield it, so any player can use it right away. It gives no defensive bonuses.
The red topaz machete is tradeable, equipable, and noteable. It weighs 1.36 kg. It can also be disassembled as a longsword, which can give base parts, blade parts, metallic parts, sharp components, and dextrous components. Its examine text calls it "A jungle specific slashing device."
