Description
The rune bar is a metal bar in RuneScape 3. It is made with the Smithing skill by smelting one runite ore and one luminite in a furnace. This needs level 50 Smithing and gives 10 Smithing experience per bar.
Rune bars are used at an anvil to forge rune gear. This includes weapons, armour, ammunition, and tools. Each bar used at the anvil gives 240 Smithing experience, which makes rune bars a strong pick for training the skill. All rune items can be made at level 50.
The bar is free-to-play, so any account can use it. It is tradeable and noteable, and casting High Alchemy on it gives 250 coins. It can also be disassembled for Simple parts or Crafted parts for Invention.
In game lore, rune metal projects an invisible energy field. This field damages anything that hits it, so rune weapons hit hard and rune armour deflects blows from weaker metals like steel or mithril.
