Description

Spirit shards are pieces of the large obelisk in the Spirit Plane. They are a key item for training the Summoning skill in RuneScape 3. Players combine them with a pouch, charms, and a special ingredient at a Summoning obelisk to make Summoning pouches. Those pouches let players call familiars to help them in the game.

Every pouch needs a set number of spirit shards. Higher level pouches often need more shards, so training Summoning uses a lot of them. For example, a spirit terrorbird pouch needs 12 shards and level 52 Summoning to make. Buying shards in bulk makes it easy to train the skill without stopping.

Spirit shards stack in the inventory and weigh nothing, so a huge amount takes up only one slot. They also hold a stable value of 25 coins each, which is why many players use them to store wealth. If plans change, Bogrog in Gu'Tanoth or Lord Amlodd in Prifddinas can swap finished pouches back for a share of the shards used to make them.
